| I think this song is about a gay guy stuck in the closet, probably the author. Wookid is talking to himself when he was young and the one who's talking it's his inner voice. | |

This song has a great melody, but the lyrics are really tough to grasp. In my opinion this song is about a guy that lost himself and he doesn't know who he is anymore; even his dark side seems to have changed and got worse. This guy tries to hide himself behind a mask forgetting his sadness and who he really is. The way he does it is to appear stronger than other people but he doesn't know if he's right or wrong and his actions are unpredictable. She tries to help him because she can see behind the mask and she falls in love with him, but she falls into a form of devastating slavery, so she knows the only way to live is to run away. Then, from the outside, she keeps looking at him noticing that he's still pretending to be someone else: a bad person. |

| Many people apply this to Guy, but I don't agree... And the song was originally written by Madonna fort Confessions On A Dance Floor (2006), then she and others reworked it. | |

Madonna sang this song at all the charity concerts she joined (Live 8, Hope For Haiti). If you look at the way Madge sings this song live you can notice that she's not in a “sex attitude”. I do not exclude the possibility of the sexual element, but it is present, it's not present in a filthy way. This song, in my opinion, is about the process of rejecting the traditional Catholic upbringing and beliefs... She asks herself about her relationship with God and she looks for him (I hear your voice...I can feel your power) and then she realizes that all that she thought was wrong (you are not what you seem ). Then, in “Act Of Contrition” she says the opposite of what she said in “Like A Prayer” (in fact Act Of Contrition is a sort of reversed version of Like A Prayer)... BUT it could be also about love and sex in a powerful, intimate, RELIGIOUS and passionate way. It could be that her love towards God is being transferred to a man. So religion was just a need for “the mysteries of life” and the emptiness she had in her life. So she equates her past religious life to this love, showing that her Catholic upbringing limited her and that there isn't anything as divine and natural as loving someone, being loved and making love. And, by saying that it's just a little prayer and she's down on her knees, she's also mocking the conservative Catholic church that doesn't not allow people to live naturally and to be sexual. |

| Do you know it is a Madonna song... It seems to me that many of you don't know it at all and it's absurd! | |

| This cover sucks. So childish and boy-bandish... They don't even know the meaning of these lyrics | |

| There's no another way to interpret this song: the message's very clear, unlike the ones in the lyric of their other songs! | |

| I think it's about sexual abuse. If you read the song thinking about an abused girl it seems likely. | |
