He cleared up the misconception at his concert last night. It's NOT about a break up (terminally ill romance). It's actually about an airport terminal romance. He talked about that feeling you get in an airport terminal when you see a girl you instantly fall in love with. But you never have the guts to talk to her and you never end up sitting with her on the flight. I thought it was cool, because sitting in the airport before a long flight is one of the coolest feelings and can be such a huge moment in your life. Definitely makes sense with the lyrics too, but I never would have thought of that without him saying so. |
