Hollywood Undead – Bullet Lyrics 10 years ago
It's obviously about suicide guys! Okay now that's out of the way I thought I'd add some more things about it.

It's about someone who really wants to commit suicide (self-harm, pills etc) but is having many attempts without succeeding. This suggests that whilst they might want to commit there is still something holding them back or they don't have the confidence to do it.

Something that could be holding them back is their family. They know that they're parents feel guilty and can't understand how the child they raised now wants to kill themselves.

'The father who swore they'd stay' suggests that this person comes from a broken family. maybe this is the thing that is causing them to want to do it. 'I'll see you tomorrow' could be referring to how the child might have heard this when they were little if the parent had come over to see them. Now this term is used in more of a mocking way which could suggest that they are mocking the family member for wanting to see them when they don't really care about them.

However, after thinking about it for a while they've decided to use more extreme methods of committing suicide (bullet, jumping from buildings etc) which shows how they are getting more desperate to complete the act. The knife they now use is 'sharpened twice' which indicates how much they want to do this.

Their 'legs dangling off the edge' could again indicate their hesitation but it is more likely that they are are just seeing if people do really care about them and if no one comes soon then they will just jump.

The person in this song is obsessed with keeping up appearances to people who do not know them. Their wrist is obviously severally scarred however there is never any mention of them trying to cover it up which shows how they want to hurt themselves as well them not caring if their parent or friend sees it. However, they are wearing a suit because they want to look good for God. They don't keep up appearances for their family but they want to give a good impression to God who they have not met.

The cheery instrumental and catchy tune of this song also show how the person wants to make themselves look good to people who haven't met them. The tune reflects how suicidal people will often put on a smile or act as if everything is all right when inside they feel the complete opposite. This is another reference to keeping up appearances for strangers in this song.

Suicide is not the only thing that is affecting this person. They could be suffering from depression. Their is no light in their life and they are having difficulty sleeping, possibly due to them coming up with new suicide plans.

Finally, there are a few affects of having the child at the end. One is that we, the listeners, are reminded that at some point this person was a sweet and innocent child that has since been corrupted by the world. This could serve to show us that society and people today are what has caused this person to want to commit suicide.

Another affect is a way of showing that the person has committed suicide and finally succeeded. They are no longer mentioned in the sing and we are only left with the child which leads onto the final effect.

There is a possibility that the person had a child of their own and has now left them in this world. They have no role model except from a parent who has committed suicide. This leaves us with the message that the child now sees suicide as something they would like to try as this is what their parent has done and they cannot see the negatives in this as they are too young an naive.

If you read that then thank you! I analysed this song a few years ago for a course and I just thought that I'd share it with you. If you question it then I can offer more opinions on it but to me this is what the song means.

You may have other ideas but I think that this song is about someone who wants to get closer to someone they know but is too scared to go and ask them out.

Throughout the song they keep asking questions, 'Shall I write it in a letter?
Shall I try to get it down? Can I be close to you?'. To me it sounds like they are watching one of their friends trying to find the courage to ask them out.

They spend their whole day thinking about this person, 'And you fill my head with you.'.
