| Bob Seger – Still The Same Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| Bob Seger said it's an amalgamation of the people he met when he first got involved in Hollywood (showbiz), and about how they're deeply flawed and conniving people but because they are very charismatic they get away with being dirtbags | |

Poker is just a metaphor to indicate that the woman is a hustler of some variety of crime and shady business practices and she has no moral compass /// You always won every time you placed a bet You're still damn good, no one's gotten to you yet Every time they were sure they had you caught You were quicker than they thought You'd just turn your back and walk /// This woman is a scam artist with a number of questionable hustles that when he was a younger man that really impressed him with her manipulate people around her and never once gets caught or faces any negative outcome. That includes using her looks to get what she wants from suckers to further her benefit and if anyone else gets hurt, that's the game. /// You always said the cards would never do you wrong The trick you said, was never play the game too long A gambler's share, the only risk that you would take The only loss you could forsake The only bluff you couldn't fake /// She is used to quick relationships that she gets something she desires from someone and once she is done, she moves on. Finds a reason she needs to bolt and not get into a situation she can't control. And the narrator knows she is the type that doesn't do long term anything, especially commitment. And though she made him feel like he was special, he is was just another means to an end. /// And you're still the same I caught up with you yesterday (still the same, still the same) Moving game to game No one standing in your way Turning on the charm Long enough to get you by (still the same, still the same) You're still the same You still aim high /// So some time after she last manipulated him they see each other some common venue (probably a bar). The narrator now views her with the knowledge that she treats everyone as she did him. She sees him and probably thinks there is probably someone she can milk again and she flashes him the come hither because when those times where she is vulnerable, she controls the player in her games so her chances of losing are minimized. Tl;Dr: Chick who used him and broke his heart is still manipulating people to get what she wants |

| Just saw these guys last week and they played this song and they sing it as "tears that filled my bones" not "filled my by bong" | |

Awesome song about how white males are stereotyped by different groups and how those groups assign a set of beliefs to them, rather than treating them as individuals. The 2 salient stanzas are as follows: Some say I'm lazy...and others say that's just me. Some say I'm crazy. I guess I'll always be. But it's been such a long time since I knew right from wrong It's all a means to and end I keep it moving along Radicals and Racists Don't point your fingers at me I'm a small town white boy Just tryin' to make ends meet Don't need your religion Don't watch that much TV Just makin a living baby And that's enough for me It's not surprising that this song is misunderstood as a racist looking at looking at the world rather than everyone with an ax to grind (Niggers, Cops, Immigrants, Faggots, Radicals and Racists) projecting their own prejudices. Once you get past the hot button words and listen to the lyrics, the meaning of the song is plain as day |
