Before reading this, just know that I am atheist and do not believe in any kind of heaven/hell. Thought about this for so many years, but never took the time to actually put it into words. Chino's latest tattoo (of Baphomet) kind of solidified my own personal meaning to this song. I am not saying it's correct, but it's the way I interpret it. Having said all that, I think the song is about somebody who has made a deal with the devil for fame and money and now regrets the decision. Anybody can search YouTube for numerous videos regarding people in the music industry selling their souls for fame and fortune. To me, the word "root" is referring to that which is in the dirt, reaching and growing downward towards "hell." **I and me we go with Jesus in a bowl of dirt** To be forced under (to hell) and look up to your home (Jesus' home, heaven) because We gave our eyes (sold our souls), but no one will, yes I know because To heed the cause (fame and money), I will be barred (from heaven), but you won't (Jesus won't be barred from heaven) ... To be judged by one (Satan) or licked by three (the holy trinity) And your holes, enclose ... Just because I will afford (made a deal for fame and money) living in me is so poor Deliver me up (he's asking Jesus to deliver him up to heaven) ... I don't believe you will find me, psycho (referring to Satan, thinks maybe he can renege on the deal? This part is repeated many times in the song, almost like he's daring Satan to come after him.) ... I'm in trouble because playing god (self-explanatory) I and me, we go with Jesus in a bowl of dirt (roots grow down in the dirt and reach toward hell) I will fly (still thinks he can get out of his deal) |

We all get that I-E-A-I-A-I-O are the vowels to idealization, illegalization, liberalization, and internalization. The part that confuses us is: Mine delusions acquainted = MDA Bubbles erotica = BE Plutonium wedding rings = PWR Icicles stretching = IS Bicycles, shoestrings = BS One flag, flaggy but one = OF FBO Painting the paintings of the alive = PPA Is it possible that the first letter to each word make up acronyms (or stand for other words)? MDA - Media BE - Back-end PWR - Power IS - is BS - Bull S(h)it OF - Opposing Force FBO - For the Benefit Of PPA - Propaganda Could the song be telling us that "Media back-end power is a bull s(h)it opposing for the benefit of propaganda"? |
