| @[loderunner:9912] Notice the line about him walking unhindered through the picket line? He's frightening. He looks unhinged. | |

The diamond sea is "life". A in all the years you've been alive and the memories, hopes, dreams, and all the rest you've accumulated. If you could go swimming in the essence of what your existence has been it would be the Diamond Sea. First Stanza explains it's time and life we're talking about and how memories can overwhelm a person and cripple them. The second stanza is more nostalgia... thinking on a person in the past and others who they've met like them, but did not replace them. Third stanza is tricky though... because the "nostalgia" has been personified. Not by a different person, but by that *you* of that time. You of many years ago, and the things you did and accomplished. Fourth Stanza elaborates on this... and the betrayal of the adult to his youth and the youth is aware of it, and pained by it. Enraged by it. Fifth Stanza carries on and informs that the child in the mirror has rebuked you. That to that child you have become the villain of the story. The unwanted fate. Sixth stanza is all about lady fortune... and looking back at what she's done... and what you've done with that fine lovely lady. Seventh Stanza is about you looking on the child you were... and the lady of fortune, and the love affair they'll have. A story you've dreamed before... Swimming in the Diamond Sea. =) |

| The Police – Synchronicity II Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It's pretty obvious. He's about to murder the family. *He* is the monster. The monster is the hatred that's been festering in him, he's personified it. What he's "staring at" in the distance is the monster. i.e. He's envisioning it. Notice every time the monster is mentioned it's accompanied by the man staring, or watching, etc? Until the end, when he and the monster are both reaching to open the door... they have found synchronicity. | |
