| King Crimson – One More Red Nightmare Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I hardly think this has to do with communist paranoia... I think the lyrics, alike many other King Crimson songs such as 21st Century Schizoid Man, are carefully chosen to represent imagery. Each phrase gives you a different nighmarish, scary scenario, fitting the overall creepy tone of the melody. |

The moment Jimmy is at his lowest. The rock bottom. He starts recollecting the events that happened recently and realizing his psychological problems, his split personality. The song plays the four themes, as a reference to Jimmy realizing his personalities. Then, at the end, the four themes are played simoutaneously, as a coherent whole, showing that the boy finally managed to aquire his identity, structure his mind into a single being. |

| Yes – Tempus Fugit Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I think it`s kind of a "carpe diem" spirit. Time flies (Tempus Fugit), so live your life to the fullest. |

| The Who – 5:15 Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Jimmy`s on a train, staring at the window reevaluating his whole life. For the first time, he starts questioning his beloved g-g-generation and Mod movement, only to realize they are... a-holes. Just like everbody else he criticized before. ... Also, he`s tottaly tripping. |

| Yes – Yours Is No Disgrace Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
When it comes to Yes, it`s difficult to accurately interpret the lyrics because they seem like LSD trips... But right from the first time I heard this song I thought of aliens. For real. Picture this: The human race is at war with aliens. Then, the little green dudes take a glance at our rotten and twisted ways of life: "On a sailing ship to nowhere, leaving any place," (our society never truly progresses) "Death defying, mutilated armies scatter the earth, Crawling out of dirty holes, their morals, their morals disappear." And they come to the conclusion that, if this planet is destroyed, it`s not like it`s something really imortant that it`s gonna be lost. Humans are terrible creatures, anyway. "Silly human race" "If the summer (life) change to winter (death), yours is no disgrace." "Yours is no disgrace" |

The song is clearly divided in four parts, representing JImmy`s personalities. It`s a prelude to the rest of the album, some parts of other songs are even paraphrased. |

| The Beatles – Helter Skelter Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I remember reading somewhere that Paul saw an interview with Pete Townshed in wich he said that I Can See for Miles was the noisiest song ever written. Paul thought "challenge accepted!" and wrote Helter Skelter, trying to be as noisy as possible. |

An immortal became a mortal, and now is desperate to see what is his future. Maybe a metaphor for vulnerability in general...? |

| Deep Purple – Hungry Daze Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I always interpreted this song as being a reference to weed... You know, when you smoke too much, you just have to eat, and get really dizzy? Hungry Daze. |

| The Who – Behind Blue Eyes Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
The song is about a man who is "bad", as he is selfish (let me wear your coat), and is only capable of feeling anger. When he says "my love is vengeance, that's never free", I think it refers not to love specifically, but the only passion, desire he is capable of feeling is hate, revenge. But the thing is, this man doesn't want to be this way. "My dreams aren't as empty as my conscience seems to be". He aspires to be a better person, but simply isn't strong enough. Because of this, he became even more bitter, thus the blue (sad) eyes. |
