When you're going through a very dark time and you're emotionally exhausted and alone, a place where no friends or real support can be found. Finally realising the people/ person you cherished was actually contolling and not capable of real love... P A I N F U L... You'd convinced yourself they loved you, because either, you were blind to their selfish behavior and thought of it as love because you knew no different ( eg.raised in a narcissistic family) or because you loved and needed them at that time and settled for breadcrumbs (low self esteem). My interpretation is that you can't control people or situations, even if you desperately want to, and for what may feel very good reason. In relationships we may want to fix or change things, but no matter how much love and communication is given, you cannot change people or control their sometimes shitty and weak choices. After struggling to hold everything together for too long, you finally realise, you actually have no control and that you just have to 'let it be". It's out of your hands. Faith gets you through these times ~knowing that you can and will be okay whatever outcome. |
