I think it’s about a guy whose wife cheats on him with the handyman. He basically ignores the handyman, because he’s just a handyman, beneath him. Then his wife sleeps with him, and he recalls her saying she once knew him….and the narrator feels like a total idiot, like he “should have known.” |

So what's this about, then? Everyone is addressing the more obvious lyrics about sheep and goats. What're they getting at with this part? |

It seems to me to be about a guy who's really, really horny and really, really frightened by it. He desperately wants to act honorably and is trying to rather desperately to control himself and the situation, but lust is nipping at his heels. It makes him feel guilty. |
