@[grey7:41135] My understanding is "You know you have this deep longing inside" which is reinforced by "you really want"

The lyrics with proper spelling:

Glóandi augu, silfurnátt
Blóð alvöru, starir á
Óður hundur er í vígamóð, í maga... mér

Kolniður gref, kvik sem dreg hér
Kolniður svart, kvergi bjart né

Kolniður og myrkur úti
En í mér, ríkir óveður

Kolniður og dimmur lekur blek
Ég reyni og brenni báta skel

Langt móldur og okkur
Myrkur grám, grám hér
Dauða hjár, linnurst, skrjáfandi

Ein brý áður, ég út von nei
Sjálfur blindur á, yfir nóg
Og ég kjústigpað um...

At the beginning of the song I hear "You know, inside you long".
To me "when it's time to go on" just doesn't fit, even having listened to different live renditions.

I agree, they clearly say "you burn my eyes".

Bat for Lashes – Circle Song Lyrics 13 years ago
Hi,

I am French and I think there are a few mistakes in the french lyrics :

- "Puis elle me tient jusqu'à la glace"
"Tenir jusqu'à" doesn't make any sense in this sentence. I think it is "Puis elle me tire jusqu'à la glace" with a slightly funny pronounciation, because her pronounciation goes a little funny sometimes. That would mean "she drags me", she takes my hand and makes me go somewhere.

- "Et en chantant chansons circulaires"
I think it is "Chanson Circulaire" because the title of the song is "Circle Song", so there is only one circle song, and I guess it's the name of the song. Also "en chantant chansons circulaires" is not correct in french : it should be "en chantant des chansons circulaires". But if "Chanson Circulaire" is the name of a song it's all right.

- "Et avec eux je suis à mort"
That's what she actually pronounces, yes, but I am pretty sure she means "je suis amour". That would make much more sense with the last line of the song : "Car tu es amour". She seems to struggle with the sounds [o] and [u] in french. For example she pronounces "Ne sont pas bons por moi", in the first verse where there can't be any doubt it should be "pour moi".

- "Tu es un grand cheval noir, me dit-elle"
It's hard to hear because there are many sounds at the same time but luckily my headphones went weird one day and filtered the voice only, so i am absolutely certain it is "un vaillant cheval noir".

I am pretty sure it is "I am love" because in french she repeats several times "car tu es amour" (for you are love).
