| Bleachers – Like a River Runs Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I was clueless as to what the song meant for a while but then I realized that it's obviously about a loved one dying and keeping them with you even though they're not alive through memories. Maybe more specifically to Jack's sister that died from cancer when he was young or his cousin but a very powerful song indeed. | |

| Well 7th Avenue in NYC is the center of the fashion industry kind of so "queens walking down 7th Avenue" could mean the generally affluent, well dressed, and powerful women that make their living there. Maybe he's blaming things on their stuck-up or particular ways? Glad to help :) | |

But I'd like to think I can cheat it all To make up for the times I've been cheated on And it's nice to know when I was left for dead I was found and now I don't roam these streets I am not the ghost you are to me He's going to bend the rules knowing that he too was cheated out of things in this life. Maybe a second chance or a first love. He was hopeless at one point but something/someone saved him from his misery. He no longer wanders alone in his own mind looking for answers. He knows now that whoever hurt him is no longer present in his mind, and he doesn't want to be her ghost anymore either Best Song on the Album? I would have to agree. |

| Imagine Dragons – Rocks Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| Not sure whether this song is about beginning a relationship ( "Throwing Rocks" to get the attention of a girl) them falling in love again, or finally parting ways. Maybe it's all of them. Maybe It's none of them. One may never know... | |

Honestly, this song feels like a couple who had a big fight one night, but settled everything and now feel more loving to each other after going through it. For once there is nothing up my sleeve Just some scars from the life that use to trouble me I use to run at first sight of the sun Now I lay here waiting for you to wake up (This man used to be dishonest to the woman he loved but since their fight he stopped but he remembers that time. He used to hide from his problems and leave her alone but has now decided to revive their relationship and stay with her) The city outside still sounds like it's on fire You put on new sheets The white flag of a Saturday night I know we stayed up talking in circles But I like to think the symmetry will keep me close to you (This is the morning after the fight. There is still a little anger, but they actually slept in the same bed as a truce. They stayed up all night to fix it and they finally feel like their relationship might work after all) For everyone I'm about to prove wrong You keep the light on The only one you know me better than the truth So despite what I've done I pray to God that we can move on Cause thus far you are the best thing that this life has yet to lose And... (A lot of people didn't believe it would work out it the first place. But they deeply love each other and he knows that. He wants to leave behind his wrongs and just start over with her. He loves her more than anything but didn't realize it.) So if you're gonna to leave If you're gonna go (come on) I can't bear to sleep without you in my arms I know we caught up slipping through a crowd of people and losers But you must not let them take you They don't know you like I do ( She threatened to leave last night and he was heartbroken. He can't live without her. Between the time they first meet and now they've seen other people but both know that nothing can compare to the relationship they have. They know each other inside and out.) Do you remember when we stayed up Till the sun stretched through the room I use to blame it on the queens walking on 7th Avenue It's been years now since we moved I've gotten through with an excuse You know I try not to speak superlatives But it's impossible to you (Now he's talking weeks/months/years about that night. It was hard being in a committed relationship. He made reasons for not loving her and not being with her to avoid trouble and it worked until then. For the superlatives part he either A. Never used words like best, prettiest, lovliest (superlatives) on anbody but her B. She used those words to describe him but at the time he avoided it) The city outside is nothing but a flicker now You see your friends to bed You turn out the lights I start to think you'll make a beautiful mother I like to think I have everything I'll want from this life (This is the present day. Their conflict is resloved almost completely. " You put your friends to bed" maybe is all of the people who doubted them. Or actually showing friends to their rooms. Before "[She] kept the light on" when they fought and now things are better "You turn out the light." He know feels secure enough to think about the future, having a family together, and finally feels that he has everything he needs.) I love this song so much :) It just really shows that things can get better |

| Personally, I think Nate is a song-writing genius. And with genius comes a little insanity, right? A few of his songs just sound like, "Who could even put these feelings into words, let alone songs?" Everyone feels like losing their minds at some point, and fun. really encompasses that in this song. | |
| The Format – Tune Out Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| When Nate sings "An oh my love, you're all I need, backed behind a frequency..." I think that maybe he really did love this girl at some point, but they couldn't get past the other issues, and the static frequency is like the walls they've built. | |

| I listened to "On Your Porch" by The Format and instantly remembered this song! Both songs talk about when Nate's dad got sick. I went to one of their concerts a couple of months ago, and when Nate sang the part, "I swear when I grow up, I won't just buy you a rose.." someone in the audiece threw a bouqet of roses to him. He laughed and said, "My dad bought my mom an actual flower shop... so what I'm trying to say is that this isn't f***ing good enough." Funniest and Best moment of my life.. Gotta love Nate! P.S. He also dedicated the song to Andrew's parents, who were in the audience that night :) | |
