The Black Dahlia Murder – Nocturnal Lyrics 12 years ago
I feel like this song is about a sacrificial Satanic ritual.

"Between the lines of dead language tongues" is a reference to a dead language, so most likely Latin.

"before the dawn our hearts they shall hunt. The smell of blood excites the nostrils at first cut. The sanguinary worship of red spraying punctures a sight so divine." The worshipers of Satan are making a blood sacrifice.

"A distorted dialect for the draining of veins to the flooding of bedsheets with sick crimson rain. A warped diction of scriptures befouled, traditions steeped within disgraces reviled." A chant in Latin for the draining of blood. This chant seems to be from a satanic text ("warped diction of scriptures befouled").

"Father, unholy one, to your night realm we bow. Nocturnal majesty, sworn to black we'll always be."
Maybe the words they are reciting while they sacrifice the people. Maybe their oath of allegiance unto Satan ("a deadly disclosure" in next line)

"Damnation's diction, a deadly disclosure, our poisons in their goblets drip."
more references to hell and satan. Maybe they poison the people before they sacrifice them.

"(Oh how) How perfectly hideous, so eloquently scribed- each scripture so skillfully sick. Parchment scabbed over with plasmatic prose, prophesize permanent night." More references to some Satanic text they are pouring over during this ritual. They are, possibly, awaiting the coming of Satan's rule over humanity.
"The words of sheer blackness paint ebony my soul and bestow me with infernal might."
Maybe cause possession or a possession like state of being upon the reader.

"By the light unspoken, this language of brutality. Enraptured I have become unholy. Night's arms welcome me." The speaker has maybe become initiated into this Satanic order or is maybe possessed by a demon.

The Faceless – Ten Billion Years Lyrics 13 years ago
This track is from Autotheism by the Faceless, which is an attack on religion. This song perfectly captures the entire nature of the album. "I am the alpha, I am the omega" Alpha and Omega are Greek for beginning and end. This is a play on a biblical passage about God's infinity. He is therefore comparing himself to God. "As I will it, so it shall be." He is the master of his life, and all that is around him. "Stake your claim here and now" Live life in the now, for that is all that exists."A servant to no wraith, I will serve only my will" a wraith is another word for a ghost or spectre. He is implying that deities are no more than ghosts, he will not serve that which he cannot see. This idea continues for the next lines. "The random chance of consciousness, a path forged in ten billion years, bestoweth the fruits of triumph unto me" He was lucky enough to be created in evolution, therefore feels chosen and must enjoy his "fruits of triumph." The next main idea is in Michael Keene's clean vocals. "At my table there is no place for you rituals of grace" he does not want to be anywhere those of religion. "I will drink to myself, for I know there is nothing else." There is no God, or true religion, so I will praise only myself. "Words of faith reflect your fear" If you do believe in religion, you are weak and afraid of what lies after death. "Thinly veiled, but far too clear" (yes the lyrics here say veined, but the actually song says veiled) Your fear is veiled in your actions and beliefs, but its easy to see how you really feel. "And if my truth shatters yours then be baptized in it's flames" If my beliefs of evolution destroys your idea of faith, then you will know that nothing lies ahead. This is most likely a hell-like reference. Making flames and suffering synonyms. "Sculpt a monument to now" worship the now, for it is all we have. Well that is essentially it. Personally one of my favorite songs of all time.
