| The Moody Blues – The Story In Your Eyes Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I love the song, always have. It's the most terrifying rock song I know. No one is blamed for our fortune tells me our fortune is not good. The love inside us is still the same, but must be more difficult to access. "The sound we make together is the music to the story in your eyes. It's been shining down upon us now I realize." This is the most amazing lyrics I've ever heard. It's as though the band gets their music from their audience or some group of people. Like a reflection of some kind. So the realization of the story comes after it has has been shown to them. This in itself is fine, but it is the story they receive that leaves me horrified. The tide is turning. Easy enough. "We're part of the fire that's burning and from the ashes we can build another day." I understand, "we're are part of the fire", cool lyrics, but, who or what are the "ashes". (I'm not sure) Could be taken pessimistically. I've never heard more terrifying lyrics than, "I'm frightened for your children." So how could this song be optimistic? Equally as terrifying are the next lyrics, "And the life we are living is in vein". I cannot say this because any persons life is never in vein. At least not yet. If it becomes this way, there goes the purpose and meaning to life. We would be mindless shells unable to have any kind of effect on anyone or anything. Because all it takes is a genuine smile to positively effect someone's life. Therefore only one friendly gesture or smile means your life is not in vein. "I can hide inside your sweet sweet love forevermore." I cannot see anything pessimistic about this line. |
