| "Daddy works a long day and he's coming home late, yeah he is coming home late and he's bringing me a surprise." That's the main part that leads me to think it's his parent that indirectly gave him the idea of shooting people. The kid seemed to be a little troubled and seemed to think that his parent wanted him to shoot people. To me it's as if the kid also has a lot of confidence issues due to not feeling his father accepts him. from the line "he won't tell you his plan" it seems he doesn't speak on problems he has but instead relies on what he assumes, and then tries to fix the problems without fully understanding what the problem was from others' points of view. To sum up my thoughts this song is about a kid who was trying to make his father proud of him, but needed help with communication skills and as a result he couldn't resolve his problems in a socially acceptable way | |
