Simple Plan – When I'm Gone Lyrics 12 years ago
It's ironic, you getting on someone else for seeming immature when you are the one picking a fight over their music taste. Makes me think....

Andrew Belle – Pieces Lyrics 12 years ago
Initially, I thought this song was about him calling it off with someone but still loving them, even if it broke the other person. Reading the actual lyrics, I think it's more of a song about someone he loves, who is very insecure due to something in their past, and that clouds their judgment of themselves. They can't see that they are worth love, and being broken from that past, they don't feel that they are and can be loved ("too much smoke to see it," "too much broke to feel this"). He just wants this other person to know that he loves them no matter those insecurities brought on by the past.

Pink Mountaintops – While We Were Dreaming Lyrics 12 years ago
"While you lie on your back
And move through the scars
So careful you are
To surrender a thing"

It seems that because of their past, it's hard to move forward with their lives: to trust and be open and let someone be there for them.

"But Jesus ain't comin'
So don't waste your time
Not yours and not mine
You're only dreaming"

That person seems to be waiting for someone ("Jesus," the saviour) in their life--the person they want to open up to and let them in their life--to save them from the pain they feel, even though it's hard for them to be honest and upfront about how they are feeling.

"Don't lie there, looking
Behind your troubled walls
Wicked as they are
You're not deceiving"

The person is question keeps these barriors , maybe trying to hide their hurt by numbing their pain, even though it's obvious how they are feeling.

"And if I could find your heart
I would pull it from your chest
And smash you with my fist
Til it was beating"

This one I am honestly not so sure about when it gets to the line "And smash it with my fist." How I see it is that that person wants this other person to be open, but it's hard when all that person can do is hide behind those walls they built up to protect themselves. This person wants the other person to start feeling again, rather than caging themselves and supressing their feelings.

"And if there's a hole inside
Heaven in your bed
Coz the angel that you kissed
Just left you bleeding"

The person opened up to someone who seemed to really good, only to end up hurting in the end.

"I know it ain't easy
To keep roundin' on
When the voices in your skull
Are always screaming"

It's not easy to keep going on with their life ad trying new things, because they don't know how to trust others. Self explanitory, really.

"Broke into your prison
And dropped the sleeping guards
Painted flowers on the bars
And snuck you out the yard"

The singer destroyed their defenses and helped them see that there can be beauty in everything, and even though it's hard to see sometimes with you being behind a wall all the time, it's possible.

"Paralysed and gleaming
With visions of new states
We're wrapped in our embrace
While we were dreaming"

This person is shocked that someone could help them see a different way of life.

Great song!

Nikki Williams – Kill, Fuck, Marry Lyrics 12 years ago
I think she really wants to let somebody in her life, but she's unsure of what to do with her feelings. It seems like she has been putting up this facade that the other person can see right through ("How is it that I don't scare you?") She knows that this person is right for her, but she is still scared or unwilling to let them in.

Rihanna – Te Amo Lyrics 13 years ago
I agree with this interpretation, as well as the most superficial one with a lesbian being in love with Rhianna. This meaning seems to fit in and definitely makes sense, regardless of being so different from what the lyrics depict.

Lil' Wayne – How To Love Lyrics 13 years ago
The first time I heard this song, I was riding in the back of a van with 7 other girls, coming back to the treatment center after a day out. I was being treated for an eating disorder, self-harm, depression, along with other issues. Just before I was committed, I had made some stupid decisions and left home. I could have fallen into prostitution, and one incident could have headed me a full time job, but I ended up coming back home and went to treatment. Before that, I had gotten the wrong kind of attention from guys, which I believe, like Samferon mentions, is what this song is talking about. I had never had a father figure in my life, since my father committed suicide when I was six weeks old. I never knew him, so it didn't affect me directly, but seeing how it has torn my mom up over the years, it definitely had effect on me, in different ways.

Listening to this song, it reminds me of myself. It reminds me of a lot of other people in the same boat, or the ones in that van the day I first heard this song.

I love the lyrics to this song. It's shows that not everyone is out for looks, eh?
