Okay, so from the way i see it, the video was semi-the same, but different as well. In the video the boy had a sister and a mother. He was constantly bullied, and no one talked to him, but he was smart too. He shot him self and commited suicide because he just couldn't take it anymore. Mary had hand the size of Marilyn Monroe, she knows because she put her hands in the imprint. She could've been a movie star, but she got pregnant.....so her life was 'stole' because she had to take care of her child. Greg was a great basketball player, who had a tryout. But he was shot by a rival, and he dies....his life was literally stole. That was the Video. In the song i thought it had a different meaning.... There was a boy who was nice, quiet, and had good intentions. He was respectful towards elders, and he was always there for those he cared about. But no one payed attention to him because he wasn't popular. He was very smart though. He was bullied, by his peers.....usually he played guitar but he got so sick of it he decided to put an end to it. So he grabbed his father nine milimeter gun and went to schoool with it. He shot Mary (who could've been an actress), and Greg(who had a tryout with the sixahs) but the boy shot the both of them. This caused him to get put in jail, and it was aired on the news....the people at the school now all know his name, they cried about how it wasn't fair, he had never fit in...maybe someone could have stopped this. But no one did. All of their lives were stole. |

| Personally I always thought of it as though she was talking to the popular girl you know? She wanted to be the it girl, but when she tried she realized she just couldn't manage that. Then they become friends and she realizes that though the girl appears to have the best life of any one she is hiding what her life is like. It is horrible. | this song is about someone boy or girl having someone tell them what to do can be a boyfriend girlfriend sibling uncle aunt but is most likely a kid talking to their parent(s). they are so used to it that they are now just functioning on auto-pilot because they are numb. the person expects them to be perfect and live up to their expectation. follow in their footsteps. this most likely being directed to a parent. they have become numb because it is so much more worse than abuse.they are saying that i know that you are doing this because someone did this to you and you let them down now you want me to be perfect for you. | |
