This is another Morning Parade song about fight or flight. A person who feels they are not good enough for other people - even though they might act as if they are - so they flee before they are rejected. They are filled with fraught and anxiety and worthlessness, even though they seem put together. And this person sees this and is telling them to just relax. Stop analyzing everything. Stop being so perfect. Just be calm and everything will be fine. No need to run any longer. No need to carry the weight of the world, the weight of everything. |

My two-cents. It's about a person who defaults into a fight or flight mode. That's the predictable part. And someone loves them very much and is solid and strong for them, but asks them to stick around and trust them - not to leave - not to go into flight at the first scare. But everything scares them - like the morning headlines, everything seems to be a disaster, so run! But the person can't run because the strong person who loves them beckons to them with high beams - when they are in trouble, the high beams come on and they freeze like a rabbit in the headlights and cannot run away. They feel like a thorn in this person's side, but the person does not see it that way. The person just loves them so strongly, that all they want is for the rabbit not to flee. |
