First verse is about drug use, obviously the aphrodisiac is acid and the canoes are slang for joints, the final line referring to Johns comment about being better known than Christ. Second verse is about Apple Corp. the Beatles becoming a viable money making entity. Knock knock knock I am assuming is the taxman. I believe that Imperfect Stranger is correct about the character pairings and the third verse as a whole. The final verse of course is their demise... George went on a religious search, Not too sure about the Ringo reference here but John was just plain fed up and Paul tried to put a happy face on it all. |
