| I think in the beginning of the song, the couple has come to a point in their relationship where all they do is fight all the time and they have no money to do anything or go anywhere and they are driving each other crazy being around each other so much. They eventually get to the point where they feel that they have tried everything and don't know what to do anymore other than be apart...the song goes on and the last part of the lyrics seem happy to me, it sounds to me like when he comes back and says "everywhere I look i see your eyes, there ain't a woman that comes close to you, come on baby dry your eyes" i think he has realized that there is nothing else out there for him and that she is the one, he says "come on baby dry your eyes" because he is back and she has nothing to be sad about anymore because he is back and then the end "they can't say we never tried" means everyone can't say they never tried splitting up and living separate lives without each other, because they did try that, and in the end realized that they were meant to be together. | |
