| Punch Brothers – This Girl Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I don't know which one of the punch brothers writes the lyrics for all their songs, but whoever it is, he is fluent in sarcasm. I don't know what it is about Punch Brothers songs, but I feel like Thile doesn't believe a single word he sings in this song. It's as if it's just one big joke about how guys behave when they're girl-crazy and the irrationality of the chase. It's so beautiful and intelligent. |

I'm curious of the lyric in the first verse, "Within the light she is my storming heroin" I wonder if instead of the drug, he's using the homophone "heroine," as in a female hero. I think it might make a bit more sense given the Wild Hunt has roots in Norse mythology and that it's not just a unexplained drug reference. Just curious if anyone else thinks this is a possibility |
