So full of love he can barely eat (He cant eat because of his alcoholism) He is so addicted that he believes that even in death, underground, he'd wake and crawl to her (alcohol). |

"Honey, you're familiar like my mirror years ago / Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on its sword" He lies in that he was cheated because "Chivalry" is some kind of conduct for Knights towards women. If he says "Chivalry FELL on its sword" he says this in past tense which means he was the one doing the cheating. Maybe the woman is also a cheater. Maybe she is familiar in that way. Maybe they both snakes. |

Why is she swinging from the chandelier? Is she some kind of rich girl? Maybe she finds it hard to fit in, that she abuses substance to ease her nerves arround so much class. She says "Sun is up, I'm a mess Gotta get out now, gotta run from this Here comes the shame, here comes the shame" She has to run away because she fears the humiliation she feared in the first place. In her normal world, I think she wouldn't be humiliated. I think she'd wake her buddies up to get some more alcohol. This to me is a song about a party girl who went to a party that was not for her. She has a drinking problem, yes and she knows that. We are turned to certain behaviour because we think its some sort of escape. In her case she thought she was escaping humiliating herself at some fancy party, so she turned to alcohol. |
