| Taylor Swift – State of Grace Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Fall asleep to the Acoustic version playing quietly.... its almost as if she is there, singing it to you. As a guy, I secretly love that. | |
| Taylor Swift – All Too Well Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I'd say the lyrics of this song are some of her best, as well as State of Grace. Its like how you look back on a relationship and all the memories, like she does here: one of the first dates, driving in autumn, learning about their childhood while they picture you as their future, dancing together and the moment where it all ended. And how this all leads to a breakdown and recovery where you need to get over someone but you just don't know how. Just every line has an amazingly well thought out lyric in it. Especially when the last half the song where she is in the breakdown stage. Pure genius in how she can make it to relate to | |
| Yellowcard – How I Go Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song made me go out and buy the movie to watch it again. And I love how they took such a small line "this isn't how i go" and make it into a song. The line wasn't huge in the movie, but a key one. And this song displays that. I remember hearing the dad say that and it lit up my face because Yellowcard nailed this. Such a great song about how the stories fathers tell their sons become and important part of who they grow up to be. Great movie, and amazing work by yellowcard to display this idea in a song. | |
| My Favorite Highway – Bigger Than Love Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| It's not always about what care you drive, what house you live in, or grades or work performances you get, the on thing that makes life worth while is love. And this song hopefully allows people to see when you love someone, and/or they love you, its worth the risk to make it your everything. I'm sure this song could sway someone's opinion on taking the leap... The lyrics are powerful | |
| Jason Mraz – I Won't Give Up Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Powerful song about someone who cares about someone to the moon and back. That he is there through thick and thin, the good times and the bad times. In my opinion, exactly what someone who loves someone else would do. To not give up, and instead give all you have to that other person. And I cant speak for everyone, but there are a lot of time girls ask for space to think, and here he saying he will be waiting patiently for her to return and see what she has. The most sublime act you can ever do is place another person before yourself, which is what he is saying he will do here. And perhaps my favorite lyric, "'Cause even the stars they burn, some even fall to the Earth", implying that everything and anyone has its difficult times. Which is true. Quite often we think nobody or nothing experiences the pains we do, but like he implies here, we all do. Its life. Its love. |

I can agree with most of what is said, but I don't believe he is looking at a picture. "This is a black and white of you I found" To me, this sounds more like an analogy to me. Basically like he is saying a memory he is having of an old time, or a "black and white" moment in the past. Maybe before things changed between them and when things were at their best. I'm sure anyone can relate to that, and you are thinking of your own situation like this. Basically a song about kind of holding on to someone you deeply care for, and not knowing if it's time to fix things, or as he alludes to in the song, move on because you cant hold on anymore. This situation is described perfectly here. "I'm gonna miss you everyday I turn my back on anyone who won't believe And it gets lonely, still It gets lonely, still" This is where you get the feeling he wont listen to anyone who says bad things about the situation or the person. It has to be hard to stick up for someone who must be hurting you, but if the feelings are true, you unknowingly do it. "I hang you up and then I pull you down" to me sounds like a reference to being unable to move on. As in by hanging you up, he is giving up, or like the saying in sports: "hanging up the cleats" for people who retire. But then he "pulls you down" or falls right back into feelings for the girl. Again, everyone has and does feel this. Some people can really make you want to give up, but you still hold on. And the most amazing line I think I've heard from Yellowcard: "I don't hear music anymore My ears are tired of all the pictures in the words Cause you are in them, still." Such beautiful lyrics that really makes perfect sense. Relating feelings to music is a source of healing and here, he is saying he doesn't hear music but rather memories that get stirred up, and he gets caught up in the memories he sees that are produced by the lyrics in the song. Because he isn't going to "hang you up", because he is enamored even through the pain. The power of words are amazing, and this is an example of stirring powerful feelings from such well-put lyrics. Just a poor mans thoughts. |
