"It could be the death of me
Knowing that my friends
Will not remember me"
How could any one not remember Bradford?? Pretty melancholic song, aging is pretty depressing, cause once your youth is gone, it's gone. Scoring drugs can be equally depressing. Possibly my favorite off the song off the album, not moment, cause that's the last two minutes of HWHL. |

Reminds me of Twin Peaks, I just saw the series and the movie recently. Particularly the line "Go towards the mirror and, pray that you'll see, someone else." I know it's Bradford being self-deprecating, but it also reminds me of Bob from Twin Peaks, when he possessed Leland and Leland sees Bob in the mirror. Also, the last few lines, "Time slows when it goes away" could be about the Black Lodge, where time is slowed to non-existent state. Praying is also a theme in the movie, as it saves Ronette from Bob, and in the end Laura's soul is free to go to the White Lodge when see see's her guardian angel. Maybe I am grasping for straws, the middle part doesn't relate to TP at all, but I do sense some similarities, both in the music and the lyrics. Bradford probably is a huge Lynch fan. |

It reminds me of a psychotic hospital/nuthouse you might encounter in a HP Lovecraft novel. One of their best songs no doubt. |

Perhaps a bad acid trip on a twenty-third birthday that leads to a nervous breakdown? I feel bad for Justin (or Vern?). |

I could see this as a Beatles song, amazing versatility. I hope they come back, I feel like Ian needs to release a few more melancholy piano tunes. |
