Feist – The Circle Married The Line Lyrics 14 years ago
My impression is that the title is referring to a rising or setting sun. First light, last light, when the circle married the line is when the sun is on the horizon. Its about getting away to that place where you can clear your head and see where things begin and where they end.

John Prine – Blue Umbrella Lyrics 14 years ago
This is not one of my favorite Prine songs, but I agree there is some great writing here. @Sticketywicket, It's interesting to hear that he wrote this as a teenager because it does feel like it describes the confusion that comes with a breakup early on in life, and it has less of the well-travelled voice of many of Prine's other songs. (There is also an acoustic version that sounds like it was recorded earlier on a bootleg of demos I found floating around the internet)

Beirut – Payne's Bay Lyrics 14 years ago
To me, the middle part sounds like:

"Golden hymns, child
All them words you'll know"
