Live – All Over You Lyrics 2 years ago
I've always wondered what this song meant and I've read the speculation on this and other sites. But I've never heard this possible interpretation before:

This song is about Jesus Christ.

Jesus was pinned down for being different. He was laid down, He was abused, He paid now, and the love He has for us is like no other. The vision of the sun, the fields, the sky all are suggestions of the peace gained through Christ.

Kings of Leon – California Waiting Lyrics 2 years ago
I think I got it!

"California" represents stardom, fame. There it is - fortune fame just "waiting!" Here, the band has given way "their lonely life" in an effort to gain success. But as it turns out, the live of fame is not everything it's cracked up to be. To be famous, life becomes something that "everything must be just right."

One would think that stardom and all the worldly riches would "save" you, but only after you obtain it do you realize that "by givin' in you are givin' up."

In case you are wondering, the Mona Lisa reference is to the beautiful women that fame brings, but as the song Crimson and Clover says "Ah, now I don't hardly know her." She's a stranger.

Queensrÿche – The Right Side Of My Mind Lyrics 5 years ago
According to biology, the right side of one's brain controls their creativity (the left side is logical and pragmatic). So Queenryche is talking about letting go of all the things that get us down in the logical world around us and to explore our creativity - taking us to new frontiers of thought. How about that - a scientifically-based rock song!

The right side of your mind - I'll see you there!

Moby – Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad? Lyrics 8 years ago
"He'll open doors"

"I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut." Revelation 3:8

Who is it that gives you solace when you are heartsick? Who is it that opens the door to everlasting peace? My interpretation that the song speaks of someone opening doors to freedom from the pain that we all feel at times. That someone is the one that locked doors could not prevent entry (John 20:19) and death could not hold. Jesus Christ.

Moby is a Christian and has spoken openly about his admiration of Christ.

Collective Soul – Run Lyrics 12 years ago
Obviously the song is about the shallowness of life. After doing everything, buying everything, life has no meaning. Do I have a long way to run - to find the meaning of life.

And yet there is hope - "I long to find the messenger." This is someone who can give life real meaning. Someone who can answer the question: "why am I here?"

The messenger - try the Prince of Peace.

Duran Duran – New Moon on Monday Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is not about the fall of communism or revolution et al.

It's about sex. What a surprise!

The primary character is involved with a woman in which he has a spectacular relationship with - but only at night:

"The lizard mixture" - the way a reptile acts differently during the day and night
"Your dance on the eventide" - wild sex at night (eventide is an archaic term for evening)
"Maybe I could catch a ride" - anyone can tell what this means and he's talking about a motorcycle ride
"I'll wait for you to decide" - yes or no?
"warning siren" - are you ready to rock?
"New Moon on Monday" - they starts over, like the month does, every night
"a firedance through the night" - hmmm, could it be SEX?
"I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite" - day is no action time. Now what could be a part of the male anatomy that might be termed "a lonely satellite?" He's referring to the same thing as when he "light my torch and wave it. . ."

"Breaking away with the beast of both worlds" - she's hot to go at night, but not during the day.
"clues you leave behind" - you remember the night!
"as if I'd forget tonight" - not a chance!

So sorry, New Moon on Monday is not a political commentary. It's about sex.

Ozzy Osbourne – Perry Mason Lyrics 12 years ago
If you ever read the books, watched the TV show or saw a movie, you'd know that Perry Mason was an amazing defense atty. He never lost a case.

This song is not about Perry Mason the literary character though. It's about about drug use, or rather, it 's about the struggle to kick the habit of drug use. "We need Perry Mason" means we need someone to help us kick the habit, to beat the unbeatable, to win the unwinnable. Just like Perry who did the same in the courtroom. It is a great allegory.

Finally, the first 20 seconds of the song are ripped directly from the Perry Mason TV Theme song. Go to the 22 second of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCaCXXCM42Y

Ozzie has woven an old TV show theme into a fantastic image. This is really genius and solid rock as well.
