I think you're right about the most of it abetz02... For me 'to call for hands of above to lean on, wouldn't be good enough for me, no' means that they can't get over the fact that they can't have a relationship, can't have any contact or see eachother.. 'You knew the hand of the devil' suits to for us... we had hoped that that 'hand' wouldn't return before we left our partners, but it did and we knew it could return.. This song still hurts me so much...I'm in that situation, I've had one night with my ex (ex from years ago, and it was magic, true love... but we can't be together how bad we both want to.... My ex still posts this song, it's been 6 months that we had that one night, it's been 4 months that we had any contact... I still miss him so bad but I still have hope that one day we will be together and I'm sure he has that same hope.. :( |

Now I know what this song is about.... It's about what should have been a one night stand with someone, turned out to be an impossible true love, forbidden by the 'hands of above', influence of things that can not be changed by anyone, like the devil's involved with it.... How bad he/she want's to be with that person, it's not possible and there's nothing he/she can do about it..... so sad but so true.... :( my story :( |

Ok, here we go.... I think it's about someone who wants to be with someone who is in a relationship. They had sex (talk about underwear) but the girl is in another (bad) relationship and she can't make up her mind over what she really wants (him or staying with her man). He tells her that when se really loves him, she has to pay the price (leave her man) and go to Hollywood (him). I even think that the boy is her ex-boyfriend (love your man, love him twice...) 'The world' = her man, he thinks that she lost her innocence because of the bad things her man did to her and tells her not every man is bad and that he's going to be there for her when she go's away and support her to find her way. |

I think it's about someone who is in a really bad relationship. He has cheated on his partner and has to pay for it now (Spend your lives in sin and misery In the house of the Rising Sun.) The house of the rising sun is not a good place, he hates it there (And it's been the ruin of many a poor Boy, and God I know I'm one /I'm going back to New Orleans To wear that ball and chain ) but for some reason, he can't leave. |

I think a part of the song is indeed about technology, altough, it's about love to. It's about 2 persons who, for whatever what reason, can't be together at this moment (distance?). The man his heart hurts because of that, he hopes they will find eatch other again when the are older and he hopes the woman will wait for him. He also thinks he will not survive the situation he's into (bad relationship?). But still hopes that everything is going to be okay at the end. (But throught eternal night,The twinkling of starlight,So very far away). |

I think it's about someone who has cheated his partner. He/she wants to be with that other person but they are both in relationships, he/she regrets the cheating but deep inside is longing to be with that other person, I even think he/she told their partner that they cheated. He/she dreams about how it would be with that other person, longing to be save and warm, it's better there they think. The preatcher = the partner, that could mean the relationship where he/she is into is bad and cold but for some reason they can't leave(the preatcher liked the cold, he knows I'm gonna stay). But he/she still thinks about leaving (If I didn't tell her, I could leave today). |
