| I heard it's about Andy Warhol. Like quite a bit of the album. | |
| The Chameleons – Caution Lyrics | 4 years ago |

It's their most explicit lyrics about heroin, "Brown sugar, ice in our veins No pressure, no pain". A cautionary tale. I think parts are about how their hometown doesn't feel like home anymore ("This is not my home") because so many have died ("Everybody's checking out the dead and cold"). It ends in desperation ("Nothing on earth could help me, no"). A cautionary tale and hard hitting. They're still my favourite band of all time, their music I always return to more than any other artist year after year, although this song isn't high up the list for me. |

@[monster36604:37326] This may well be what they've said about the song but to me this explanation makes no sense at all when you read the lyrics. I think it's about heroin and they just didn't want to say so. |

| Joe Jackson – It's Different For Girls Lyrics | 6 years ago |
| @[xabinovell:32929] I still think you're all wrong. I think this is a homosexual use of the word 'girls' and that is why it's different for 'girls'. I've have loved this song ever since I heard it as a boy and have sung along many times including just now. As we all love the song it doesn't matter if we're all still wrong about the meaning! I'm not gay so I'm not saying this out of any knowledge nor narrowmindedness about everything applying to my circumstances, generally though I think it's a good idea not to take lyrics too literally when trying to understand them. | |
