| Rise Against – Endgame Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Lyrics according to album booklet: And on that day they'll tell you That life went on with no clue The warning signs were all dismissed or shouted down So it goes The kings all failed to tell us The madmen failed to sell us On what would then befall the only life we know Were they burning signal fires To guide us to the fields Or building funeral pyres The outcome of a final appeal The city lines are down The kerosene's run out The fracturing of all We relied upon Let's shed this unclean skin And start to feel again 'Cause all the shoulders on which to cry are gone The paranoia gripped us The rain turned engines to rust The panic set in like a cancer to our hearts Spreading through We bet on finite genius And prayed for gods to save us But there was no answer, so Disease tore us apart We left bodies in the fields So numb that we forgot how to feel The city lines are down The kerosene's run out The fracturing of We relied upon Let's shed this unclean skin And start to feel again 'Cause all the shoulders on which to cry are gone He looked at the fields, and then his hands "All I need is what I have" Then fell a tear of happiness Oh, she watched the world crumble away "Is this the end of yesterday?" "Lord, I hope so" is all he said Gone are the old guards Gone are the cold, cold wars Weightless, we go forth, On wings of amnesty. All we relied on now The city lines are down The kerosene's run out The fracturing of all We relied upon Let's shed this unclean skin And start to feel again With no more shoulders, shoulders to cry on now No more, no more No more, no more No more, no more The weight that we once felt is gone. |

| Trivium – Built To Fall Lyrics | 13 years ago |

"Resistance is fuel into my well-being" should be "Your existence is doing to my well-being" "Become an ulcer berating" should be "Become an ulcer permeating" "If I had known about you to" should be "If I had known all that you would do" "Would it be soon, what I do to you?" should be "Would it hasten what I do to you?" |

| Escape the Fate – Gorgeous Nightmare Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Exactly the way I feel about the girl I love. She doesn't feel the same, but doesn't seem to understand that nothing she says or does will make me give up on her... | |
| Escape the Fate – Gorgeous Nightmare Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Just sayin, it's "resurrect", not "re-surect" | |
| Rise Against – Broken Mirrors Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| However, he/she has got songs mixed up. That "Rome was destroyed..." was from "survivor Guilt". | |
| Rise Against – Broken Mirrors Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| frozenhobo basically said what I think :) | |
| Rise Against – Satellite Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| My interpretation of the "contradiction" is that, when he is saying "we won't back down" he's speaking about making a stand against a repressive government, & when he's saying "we'll sneak out", he's talking to a girlfriend of his, i.e. the lyrics "she told me that she never could face the world again, so I offered up a plan"... just my interpretation, think what you like, but this meant a lot to me, because I recently talked a girl out of suicide. | |
| Disturbed – Darkness Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I have listened to every song on every one of Disturbed's albums, so I think I'd know a thing or two about their songs. Anyway, it doesn't matter what your interpretation is, this website was designed so that people can share their interpretations & see what others think. There is no need to insult people because of what they think. | |
| Rise Against – Dancing for Rain Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| "Under the veil of dust" should be "Under the veil of DUSK" | |

Lyric corrections: "many mountains i could move" should be "then mountains i could move" "always keep me coming back to you" should be "are what keep me coming back to you" "jump confessions..." should be "shout confessions..." "disciples of a god, they neither live nor breathe" should be "disciples of a god that neither lives nor breathes" By the way, I have the album & have read the lyrics. |

| Shinedown – 45 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
"Send away for a priceless gift One not subtle, one not on the list Send away for a perfect world One not simply, so absurd In these times of doing what you're told You keep these feelings, no one knows" "Send a message to the unborn child Keep your eyes open for a while In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else There's a piece of a puzzle known as life Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight" I think this is about how the US claims to have rights to free speech, but those whose opinions don't match those of the majority face persectution, hence "you keep these feelings, no one knows". I think the "puzzle known as life" refers to wisdom that the narrator has gained in life, which can help the child figure out the "puzzle" that we have to put together to gain social acceptance. "Keep your eyes open for a while" means see the people in the world as the feelingless, psychopathic animals they are, not what you want them to be. The "priceless gift" is the "perfect world, one not simply so absurd". |

| No. It isn't. | |
| Nickelback – Just to Get High Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Reminds me of my uncle. He was addicted to heroin for nearly 20 years and has only just gone clean. My cousin once found him and a friend, both overdosed, and saved him but the friend died. Also, my mum had a miscarriage and while she was in hospital he stole our stuff. My mum and her parents are still arguing about it. My grandma still pretends it didn't happen. | |
| Green Day – Misery Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| My favourite Green Day song, on my favourite Green Day album. I love how Green Day just moved on from Dookie and showed that they didn't just do generic punk, and actually have variety, which is shown in songs like this, along with Hold On & Macy's Day Parade. | |
| Rob Thomas – Wonderful Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| In response to navii, I'm in high school too, and I've discovered that the best way to stay happy is not to care what people think, just be yourself. It's got me a few enemies, but I don't care. If they can't accept me for who I am, they're not worth a second thought. | |
| Lifehouse – The Joke Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I want this song played at my funeral. | |
| Disturbed – Indestructible Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| hahahahahahaha! Couldn't stop laughing at all of you right-wing, backward morons! This is obviously meant to be facetious. As if a left-wing libertarian (self-described) like David Draiman would write a song supporting something as farcical as the Iraq War. It seems like Dubya wanted to defend his nation's "freedom" by taking it from others. He's writing from the perspective of an Iraq War soldier, who would legitimately believe this bullshit, just to show how idiotic they are. @ nucka574, Draiman probably said that to pacify all the conservative extremists, trusting that those intelligent enough to be against the Iraq War would understand that it was a satire. | |
| Disturbed – Deceiver Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Lyric corrections: 1. "you've been caught in a lie" should be "you've been telling a lie". 2. "it's all been a lie" should be "it's all in the lie" 3. "a world to dicover, you're leaving me now" should be "I woke to discover you leaving me now" |

| Rise Against – Make It Stop (September's Children) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I have several points for you, you juvenile imbecile: 1: Gays do not fuck up children's lives, as homosexuality is not a choice, it is a trait with which you are born. 2. There is nothing wrong with being gay. I know many gay people and I am sure they are far better, more wholesome people than you. 3. The fact that you couldn't understand the song from listening to it just confirms your idiocy. 4. You are a disgusting, degenerate pig, and you have my pity. |

| Rise Against – Re-Education (Through Labor) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I hope that is a joke, because if not, then you have serious problems. Well thought out, though. | |
| Rise Against – Re-Education (Through Labor) Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is a very strong political song. I believe that it is about all the suffering that occurs in the depraved dictatorships around the world when people speak their mind. Their punishment is to be "re-educated through labour" (yes, I know in the US the word "labour" has no "u", but I'm Australian, and here it does). With the phrase "each breath we take makes us thieves" means that in their countries, the aforementioned prisoners are considered unworthy of life, and that they are wasting space that could be taken up by those considered "model citizens". I believe that this is now not only in third world countries, but also in western nations, in particular the US, with its "patriot act" and the bible belt. | |
| Disturbed – Darkness Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I think that it's about David Draiman's gf committing suicide, and his battle to overcome it and breathe "on my own". He really wanted to say one more thing to her before she died, hence "I pray you've heard the words I've spoken". No matter what the meaning or your interpretation, it's a great song, especially since Disturbed pretty much never do slow. | |
