Hello, I think this is also related to Sacred Emily poem by Gertrude Stein..."Rose is a rose is a rose". I have read that the poem was dedicated to Sir Francis Rose, a painter...but I am not sure about Mecano´s use of the line. People thought that the poem was related to how things are what they seem to be. Also I would like to say that Ana Torroja is the granddaughter of Eduardo Torroja, super Spanish Engineer, look for his works. Both were brilliant in their respective fields. |

I really love this song and I think I love the band too. The first line "the moment we forgot we were just good friends" for me means that both want to be more than friends, because both forget it. He knows he wants and he also knows that she wants because of the second line. When you realize that you like your best friend everything becomes so strange, you don´t know what to do, everything changes, and I think that suddenly there is a horrible silence. Maybe "said love was painted gold" means that the love was there but was hidden under a golden friendship :) The question is that sometimes when you begin going out with your best friend you can end it being nothing at all...unfortunately. So both are unsure...but... they are in loveeeeeeeeeeee! :D But I also really love the previous meanings you have found! (sorry for my English, pliz) |

I love this song despite it is so sad...I love it because it expresses so fine a feeling. He is being left by his girlfriend by phone. We only know it is by phone at the end of the song, the 2 last lines say "but you (the girl) only say 'I am going to hang up' ". Very sad. The song is called "Trembling". It is like if your phone rings and it is your couple and you, somehow, know what she/he is going to tell you and you begin trembling. But your couple doesn´t know that you are trembling...as he/she doesn´t know and will never know what the person left was thinking and feeling at that precise moment. Well, I am going to try to translate but my English is not so good, sorry. ---------------------------------------- Trembling with my eyes closed the sky is cloudy, and from far you are talking about what has happened to you trying to put your words in order not to hurt me so much hurt me so much and I keep trembling. Hand in hand and carefully you kissed each other where there was no light And it is funny the way you say it to me as someone who says that has thought, has decided that we keep being friends. And another thing that I would like to comment is that this line "someone who says that has thought, has decided that we keep being friends" this is so cruel...but it is typical.
