The Rolling Stones – Undercover Of The Night Lyrics 14 years ago
This song is about the fate of the poor in Latin America and throughout the third world. The young men are forced to fight for causes that they aren't necesarily in favour of while girls are sent to section 42 which is the prostitution district. The jazzed up musical style may have hurt the delivery of the message on this one. Check out my coments on Indian Girl. I have always thought that this song is a continuation of that theme of poor people bearing the brunt of political unrest.

The Rolling Stones – Indian Girl Lyrics 14 years ago
I should have said that Castro's escapades are NOT the cause of this family's suffering. The mention of another war in another place illustrates that this song is about more than this one family and war.

The Rolling Stones – Indian Girl Lyrics 14 years ago
Being married to Bianca a Nicaraguan, Jagger was in a position to witness atrocities against and to become an activist on behalf of Indians in Central America. After the earthquake of 74? the Stones did some benifit concerts to help. Bianca has used her money and influence for various social causes. A Nicaraguan comedian who had been a 1970s unicef kid thanked Bianca during a performance by saying"For us she was like mother Theresa in Gucci" referring to Bianca's fasion sense. The U.S. government was complicent in supporting dictatorships throughout the region during this time. I suspect that that is why Bianca bailed Julian Assange of WikiLeaks out of jail. He has published many articles regarding the CIA and other U.S. involvement in Central America which caused untold death and destruction amongst the poor. Castro and his Angolan escapades are the root of this particular Indian girl's suffering but Jagger could have chosen a dozen other themes that would have been equally powerful.

Bob Seger – In Your Time Lyrics 14 years ago
Seger wrote this when his kids were little and I'm sure that being a father inspired it. The sailing imagery makes sense since he is a competitive sailor so the wind and waves and turmoil are both real and metaphor. Basically he's saying that life may bang you around a bit but you'll overcome the obstacles in your way.

Bob Seger – Like A Rock Lyrics 14 years ago
Seger was an elite athlete in his youth and his hard living has taken a toll. Like any former jock he knows it's all downhill from here. He was "something to see, like a r... The pedal steel interlude was the best sessions studio add on I've ever heard. Bob and the band played it with guitars and drums and his friend added that trademark sound later on. I was a rower with 4% body fat in my youth. The mirror reminds me of the song. I was waiting to hear this song in the movie The Wrestler. It would have fit perfectly.

Bob Seger – Fire Lake Lyrics 14 years ago
It refers to Fire lake resort and casino. Anyone who grew up in Michigan or southern Ontario has seen countless comercials for this place. This is not my favorite song so no axe to grind. At fire lake you can meet the "bronze beauties" ride a monster 3 wheeler or truck and many ride their motorcycles to this place. "Uncle Joe"is evidently a problem gambler and somebody is going to have to tell his wife since"Joe's run off to Fire Lake" and he's going to gamble it all away. "Who needs a stake" is a gambling term. This is my first post of any kind an any site. Computer novice(: I had to comment because all that hidden meaning stuff has never been Seger's style. Can't wait to see what malarkey is written about "Like a Rock". Now I'm going to give fire lake a listen with the casino, motorcycles, hookers, and uncle Joe in mind.
