R.E.M. – Uberlin Lyrics 13 years ago
[Hey, now, take your pills
And hey, now, make your breakfast
Hey, now, comb your hair and off to work]
He's coming out of a relationship, and life seems meaningless now. Sticking to the daily routine, he's not really living, but rather surviving, simply doing what is necessary.

[Crash land. No illusions. No collision. No intrusion
My imagination runs away]
He's at the emotional bottom. Even though he didn't actually crash, and life continues he feels hopeless and without imagination for better times. He's also probably not ready for a new relationship right now, or maybe he just doesn't think he 's able to have one.

[I know, I know, I know what I am chasing
I know, I know, I know, that this is changing me
I am flying on a star into a meteor tonight
I am flying on a star, star, star...]
So knowing that he's still coping with his loss and can't start a new relationship, he's just chasing for company, someone to pull 'm trough the darkness. He knows that using somebody like this will make him a different (colder) person though. And so it feels like he's "flying a star into a meteor". In other words taking huge risks and playing with his own heart.

[I will make it through the day
And then the day becomes the night
I will make it through the night]
This has a double meaning in my opinion. The direct meaning, that he'll pull himself trough the day, doing his work, and he'll manage somehow. But then the lonely night starts. But he reassures himself, that he's capable of pulling trough that as well.
The double meaning is, he'll make it trough playing the rebound. But then he's afraid these temporary fixes might back-fire. But the reassures himself he'll manage somehow.

[Hey, now take the U-Bahn
Five stops, change the station]
Go out randomly and see where fate takes you.

[Hey, now, don't forget that change will save you]
You'll have to introduce something new into your life, so you won't be reminded of what you've lost.

[Hey, now, count a thousand-million people, that's astounding
Chasing through the city with their stars on bright]
You're not the only one going trough this. In fact at times it seems like the whole city is filled with people making do, all coping with their losses and all trying to substitute it with some sort of relationship.

[I don't mind repeating
I am not complete]
He doesn't mind having to start over building a new relationship. He needs someone in his life, so he'll have to.

[I have never been the gifted type]
He's not the type of person to whom making relationships come natural, he has to figure everything out as he goes.

[Hey man, tell me something?
Are you off to somewhere?
Do you want to go with me tonight?]
So he's reaching out, trying to connect with someone.

Adele – Rolling in the Deep Lyrics 13 years ago
[There's a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch, it's bringing me out the dark
Finally I can see you crystal clear]

She's been trough a relationship with a sociopath. For her it was like a roller-coaster she didn't really understand, but now that it stopped she has time to reflect on it. And as it dawns to her just how much he manipulated her, anger grows in her heart.

[Go 'head and sell me out and I'll lay your shit bare
See how I leave with every piece of you
Don't underestimate the things that I will do]

Now that she understands him, she knows how unpredictable he can be and doesn't know what to expect from such a person, but warns him to back off; 'cause she'll knows who he is now, and won't fall for his tricks anymore.

[The scars of your love remind me of us
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all]

A sociopath typically lures in his bait by being super-nice. He acted as the perfect man, promising a perfect relationship. Once he had her hooked, he slowly and gradually turned into a nightmare. But somehow she still has problems distinguishing who he really is, from the ideal image he posed to be. Or at least, she still associates him with that.

[The scars of your love they leave me breathless
I can't help feeling
We could have had it all]

Even though she sees him "crystal clear" as a fraud now, she is still bitter because she knows that he was perfectly capable of giving her this perfect relationship. However he just choose not to, for whatever sinister reasons he had.

[Rolling in the deep]
I'm not so sure about this part. In my opinion though, it's a reference to the relationship they had. The verb "rolling" associates, getting down and dirty, getting all into it. And that's what they both did. She got down and dirty by naively trusting him and allowing him to "hold her heart in his hand". And he got down and dirty, by indulging his sociopathic games, playing with her feelings out of boredom, without any sense of remorse or guilt or care for her pain.
this is

[You had my heart inside of your hands
And you played it
To the beat]
He controlled her by playing into her needs. The beat means the beat of her heart. He knew the rhythm she swayed by, and manipulated her by this insight. People tend to think that sociopaths manipulate others by fear, intimidation and deterrence. But in fact the most common form of manipulation by sociopaths is playing into people's sense of empathy. He controlled her by controlling her heart, by making her feel guilty and so on...

[Baby I have no story to be told]
I have no desire of making whatever happened between us public (yet).

[But I've heard one of you
And I'm gonna make your head burn]
But if you don't back of I'll expose you.

[Think of me in the depths of your despair
Making a home down there
'Cause mine sure won't be shared]

You'll get what's coming to you, (be it here or in the hereafter) so prepare yourself 'cause I won't bail you out.

[Throw your soul through every open door
Count your blessings to find what you look for]
Try to save yourself before it's to late for you.

[Turned my sorrow into treasured gold
You pay me back in kind and reap just what you sow]
You enjoyed manipulating for entertainment. But you yet fail to understand just how cold, loveless and meaningless your life is.

Herman's Hermits – No Milk Today Lyrics 13 years ago
I think the song is about a guy who lived together with a girl. Now she abandoned him. He is still adapting to the bachelor live. He doesn't cook nor takes care of himself. When he sees the abandoned milk bottle at his porch he is suddenly confronted with how things have changed and he starts to appreciate how things were before. At the same time he is struck with the solitude of how, to outsiders, everything about his life seems pretty much the same. All they see is an empty bottle and they don't understand what that stands for. He must cope with his loss on his own.
