| This is a controversial song------expression---presentation or somthing shown is a battle to the interpreter----so lets hit this as stright as possible here about this song,like Bono said" in a previous song--"be careful where you aim,where you aim you just might hit"--this is song line from "dirty day"--also remember David and Gloiath--David took aim with his sling shot and he did hit,and a big change to place for Isreal,with that in mind---Bono presented somehting important and it will hit,but it will hit those who want to see his expression---some look but don't see,some see but they do not look,some listen but they do not here,some here but they do not listen !!---so lts go here,he says Jesus-Jesus help me,(a call for help)I'm alone in this world(he's feels fear)a beliver in Jesus is never alone or without Jesus in him,by power of Holy spirit,but our flesh-physical senations or emotions can fool us that we are alone.Next lonliness just from not being with people can be changed and thats the point-your not alone--go and get involved with fellow beilevers,not religion-true believers and learn,if you not learning your dead---learning is love and we do this with eachother not apart.Next he tell me the story about eternity------any body can tell you that,a story about eternity or something that just passifies you for moment but doesn't change you are you cicumstances and it doen't make Jesus come any quicker than he will,he told us to occupy till he comes,so we need to just get busy being a blessing to others,we don't know when he will come,so get busy,a passive story,even though its true and people want to hear something,rather than do something--be an inspiration and helps others like Bono does in his own way,so do something to help that your talents can be a blessing to others,Jesus needs our help,even if its just one person at a time,so don't get a messiah complex,you can't save the world on your own,but from love--for God sakes man we have to help by showing,doing,giving--time,talents,work,money a whole lot of things but remember this is works by our faith,God doesn't owe us anythimg just because we do to much for God.-----next the word Fuck is not a curse word if its used only to decribed somehting messed up or precieved to messed up,we use this word all day long at times,there is a place and time for it,so don't feel guilty---guilt is not of God.-----Finally I will close here because the whole song can be summed up in these first verses----so wake up deadman-----there are too many distractions effecting you,and if you beieve in Jesus,we are then walking dead men saved by Grace,so all the distractions and interferences you have to put a stop to and get on to the important stuff of life,if you believe in Jesus,get busy--just go to work or school,be a bleesing with your talents and ablilites first to your family and then others,remember you can't save the world,only Jesus can do that,but we can help Jesus right where we are,in fsamily,school,you job,your church,but I'm not talkin about bible thumpin anybody,PREACH THE GOSPEL AND WHEN NEEDED USE WORDS-----LEARN WHAT LOVE IS AND PUT INTO ACTION TO OTHERS. | |

| I contemplate that this song, that he's(singer) is talking to someone or a goup of people in general asking-so you lost your trust,and you never should have--because the circumstances involed were bad or greivus,the trust or confidence that went out the window in the situation really didn't warrant it because somthing could have been worked out,dicussed,a sacrifice or mutual compromise could have been put in place,the person being sung about put him or herself and the singer through some painful crap that could have been avoided.Then when he says--don't brake your back if you ever here this,is saying do you realize you need to realize and here yourself,don't make excuses,don't brake your back feeling GULITY,FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF,OR TYING TO MAKE UP FOR SOMETHING,YOU NEED TO CHANGE--and when he says don't anwser life(that)--don't waste your time making excuses or apologies,because you WILL RUIN THE APOLOGY WITH AN EXCUSE OR EXCUSES--DON'T WASTE YOUR WORDS,IT TOO LATE TO APOLOGIZE,ITS TIME TO GET A GRIP AND CHANGE--MOVE FORWARD--EVERYTHING IS DEAD BEHIND YOU--A DEAD HORSE YOU CANNOT RIDE,SO WALK ON WITH ME NOW................next the singer describes a bullet proof vest and the windows all closed...could mean alot of things,but and I have to get my BUT out of the way---the singer is saying to protect your heart and influences from outside that seemed to have come between them,and the singer does protect his heart and outside influences that can tear relationships apart----and thats why he says I'LL BE DOING MY BEST---meaning he's moving on,he doesn't want to be dragged down by the other persons mud or whining or trying to make him feel gulity----he doin his best,he's not stuck in the moment,where his beloved is obviously----in a telescope lens and when all you want is friens--the singer the person is talking about needs to take a look at the BIG PICTURE OF OF LIFE,REALIZE WHAT YOU DID AND WHATS OUTHERE,AND WHAT REALLY MATTERS IS YOUR FRIENDS,MEANING A HEART IS NOT JUDGED BY HOW MUCH YOU LOVE,BUT HOW MUCH YOU ARE LOVED BY OTHERS---ACCDEPTANCE,FAVOR,ACCESS---AND ALSO A DUAL MEANING I SEE IS---telescope lens,you have to look at things closer--be more careful about whatever----and they cma for you,they came snapping at your heals---more than one person must have been involed---this person must have pissed off not only the singer but others----so trust went out the window by this person as a whole when he or she could have---WENT AND TALKED ABOUT IT FIRST BEFORE REACTING----THE SONG RINGS ABOUT A PERSON WHO REACTED WRONG---LACK OF TRUST--FEAR CAME INTO PLAY--TYING TO MAKE A PERSON OR PERSON FEEL GUILTY--DRAG THEM DOWN AND WONDERED WHY THEY CAME SNAPPING AT HIS HEALS---THIS PERSON WAS CALLED OUT ON THE CARPET OR BEING MADE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR REACTION,WHEN ALL THEY HAD TO DO IS HAVE SIMPLE TRUST,DON'T BE AFRAID--GO ASK,GO TALK IN OUT--GO REASON FIRST WITH YOUR FREINDS,NOW THEY HAVE LOOK FROM A DISTANCE(TELESCOPE LENS) TO BACK CLOSE TO THIS PERSONS FRIENS---ITS ALL A BAD REACTION---AND THE COBSEQUENCES FOR IT,-------SO DON'T LOOSE YOUR TRUST,YOU CAN,ITS HARD TO GRT IT BACK FROM OTHERS----NO DON'T LOOSE YOUR TRUST...HOPE THIS HELPS,I KNOW ITS A LOT,BUT THE SONG SPEAKS TO ME HEART ALOT----ALSO DON'T THROW SOMEBODY AWAY--OR GIVE THEM THE SILENT TREATMENT---FORGIVENESS IS A DELIBERATE BEHAVIOR... | |

This song by U2 is a very enlightening song,for myself I have lived some of the metaphorical inlays of the lyrics(words) and can identify with personal life expirences between myself and my only son.The song also gives an aura of look before you leap,hold your mud,or harsh words because they can hit,in the song where it says "be careful where you aim,because where you just might hit" and its just plain old hard to live something down or take it back,even if its the truth,some people can't handle the truth at times because of not seeing,or have not yet had life expirence in matters.The part of the song where it says " there's no blood thicker than ink" for me became a reference of money and biblical scriptures--there is no blood thicker than ink--the ink that is printed on money and the ink used to print biblical scriptures---both can and have caused problems,also ink that is printed on newsprint...these ink references I have placed can cause issues and arguements and words can be spoken or printed you just can't take back and as we realize cause troubles. The part of the song where it states " I had a staring roll--I was the bad guy who walked out " I been there a prodical son,and it I suspect it can idicate "you have reasons for it,but you reason will probably not be understood or accepted and the part of the song " nothing is a simple as you think" for this an apology or exppression of remorse and explination of it can be ruined with a excuse or excuses.Finally here the song is one of U2 best works and basicly says for me anyway "every saint has a past--every sinner has a future" is a complicated process with time,reasoning,and I don't have all the anwsers,so move forward and loke the song says somethings you can't get around,you can't get around them,SO WE WILL JUST HAVE TO GO THROUGH THEM TOGETHER TILL DEATH SEPARATES US. thankyou |
