I love your take on this and it does make sense that it could be about an affair he had. The four leaf clover reference is pretty chilling, actually and that is why I believe he is writing about an affair. You could lump Sorry and I choose You as apart of this theme. Very interesting.
Regardless, this album is so good, and it's ashame more people don't know it, simply brilliant from start to finish and one of the most important albums of my life for sure. |

The fact I am the first one to comment on this is a bit depressing because this song is FANTASTIC from start to finish. Ray is my favorite Moody Blue and always will be, and this is the classic example of how Ray would come to write his lyrics. They always seem to have a fantasy theme to them, it's awesome. Anyone who know Days of Future Passed should be able to figure out the meaning of the song, lovely tune that is most proper to listen to on a warm sunny day! |

First off I am 28, not sure why I should mention that, however this song is so incredible and WAY ahead of its time even still. A girl I dated once both agreed that the feeling of the song, the tune and melody of the song makes this brilliant. We used to get goosebumps listining to this. The portion of the song where Hayward sings "in the hands of time" is so bold, so glourious, something about the way it's mixed is just astonishing. And slowly the Candle of Life, seize the moment I suppose, at least that's how I look at. Such a graceful song. Love it! |

First off this song is as haunting as they come, sure genius on the part of Interpol. I have no idea what the song means and what the intent is here. But for me, the line "I will surprise sometimes", reminds me of my realtionship with my ex-girlfriend, we had some rough periods, but sometimes a good little act of love suprised her, that is what I take away from it anyway. |
