He's seen her joyous..innocent and perfectly in love with him. he remembers and it compelling him to bring it back. he wants to do whatever it takes to get to that state again. I am at this point in my life now. she's my world that i polluted, along with all the other critics she endured. i have to figure out how to remove the damage and breathe new life into her. i can't imagine not having her in my life...i have to make her healthy again.

yeah, one of his best and Rhianna's voice is insanely beautiful. Both their lives are damaged from his abusive behavior, yet she loves him so unconditionally that he knows no one else will ever replace her. They have that passion that only comes around rarely in a lifetime and they don't want to give it up. It's the cost they pay for their experience; obviously one they feel is worth every penny.

He broke up with her a few times (favorite breakup song indicates more than once) because something she repeatedly does kills him inside...it's something significant that she doesn't understand is damaging them persistently. He was and still is in love with her, but this problem area is huge to him, and he's starting to believe that it may not survive (but I don't think it's coming back). Since he initiated the breakup, he may be stating that he's scared to try again. He feels like their love should be steady and comforting (the tide analogy). Funny though, because in this song he focuses alot on the support they give eachother, which really points to their relationship being positive. He points out over and over how they are there for each other. She his dreamgirl (indicating total love) and nightmare (hate can only stem from love). This guy is NOT indifferent. He's passionately in love and having a hard time figuring out how to make it successful for them both. |
