just had another thought. not sure if its meant or not. but the Dwarves are the ones who bury sorrow, right? but they cant dig deep enough, because the are short. Maybe a metaphor for how humans are short people(easily distracted from the spiritual or just material or evil; or possible even only human) or possible how we are finite in an infinite universe. |

ok, So I just had an idea. It talks about dwarves named Moses and Noah. Both having to do with Gods people escaping from a watery grave . Moses parted the Red Sea and Noah built the Ark when God decided to flood the earth. But neither one can bury Sorrow.. A hidden pun on saying I drowning our sorrows. "should have dug a deeper one." I know U2 had a song that one of the lines was "in my dreams I was drowning my sorrows, but my sorrows they learned to swim." The name of the song? Until The End of The World. Guess who else had a song almost by that name? They both had songs called Faraway so Close (or similar) and Until the End of the World. Both of which were from the soundtrack to and also the name of two Wim Wenders movies. So maybe that U2 line is a shout out? or just a funny coincidence. |

I like the line that goes "even a fool can come"
Maybe it is from a womans perspective. I remember watching Waiting for God and Diana accuses Tom of being a fool who grinned from ear to ear proud of joining the oldest club in the world. In other words, they had se. p.s: waiting for God is a show about old people in a retirement home. lol
yes he had sex b4 that, but not with her. and it had been years anyway. |

Great song. Possibly my favorite Foetus song.(yes there are many that I like!)
possibly about small talk and how people use cliches and dont think for themselves.
Person can't keep down person's bile
when person realizes calm down for a while
is wrong
it's actually
....when person realizes person is on trial

| The National – Exile Vilify Lyrics

(spoiler for portal 2)
ok. did anyone else notice that both songs with words(in english at least); seem to be about departure.
an exile is one who is forced to leave, perhaps because they have been vilified(i.e. scapegoated into being a villan.) also, both Glados and wheatley both blame you for things that is their fault. In other words Glados hates you because you tried to kill her, but she started it, by exposing you to more and more dangers(in the first game of course). Then in the second game she tells you that she is researching sharks for an upcomming test. Then she asks you if you know who kills people who are only trying to help them and asks if you thought it was sharks. She then tells you that thats wrong, that only you are that pointlessly cruel. Also wheatley, once hes plugged into the mainframe; tells you that hes on to you too and that hes tired of you bossing you around. um...chell cant even say the word apple. she is as glados says "a dangerous mute lunatic", but not really. Its just that shes mute(or silent at least). So...something in that mainframe makes people go mad with power and makes the emperor have no clothes.
Also the name "evile villify" almost sounds like a banishing spell name. lol

| Fugazi – Recap Modotti Lyrics

IMHO, they were either inspired by Radiohaead or vice versa. This song reminds me SO MUCH of subterranean homesick alien off of ok computer.Which is weird enough that I noticed sims between them,BUT THEN.....
Also the album this is from, End Hits and OK computer both have songs called No Surprise or No Surpises in radioheads case. Noticed the similarities between the alien songs first. Thats where "the passing night sky fills with people i know taking me home" comes in in relation to radioheads "I'd wish theyd swoop down in a country lane late at night when I'm driving"
but yeah noticed those two first and then the no surprises thing came about and BOY WAS I ACTUALLY SURPRISED!!!!!!! |

| The Damned – Curtain Call Lyrics

|
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.

I always imagine this song happening in front of a huge cave at night. with two trees at either sides of the entrance. There is a fire and a shaman is dancing wildly arround it while lightning is striking in the background. Another song about being true to yourself. Hair of the dog is a similar album intro. |

Its the b-side of passion of lovers. I always refer to it as "the passion of brothers" because they share vocal duties and are competing with each other as mentioned by Daniel Ash's bit. p.s:you can only hear daniels words correctly if you reverse it. Audigy works well for this. |
