The bad thing about this song is that it does sound repetitive and like a cop-out unless you actually sit down and immerse yourself in the lyrics. After doing that you can get a sense of how insanely deep it is. This is what I think about the song. The protagonist is in love with a woman who is "Damaged goods" perhaps she's jaded or just a little crazy but she doesnt easily accept his advances, when he is finally allowed to love her she reacts as she always does, by pushing him away, by manipulating and playing mindgames because that's the only way she knows how to be in a relationship. The song seems to me that, in the beginning he's just elated to have her but he begins to wonder if their love is worth putting up with the manipulation and her attempts to push him away. |
