I always figured that it was all those things happening above, but not in real life, but on a soap opera. There's the trope of everything being a dream, the concept of "What went wrong, she couldn't tell, but we know it all too well", and the title Daytime Dilemma (referring to the timeslot soaps generally air in). The Ramones wrote a lot of silly stuff about life on the road (hanging out in 100B, watching Get Smart on TV), and spending time on the road rather than working a day job, when you turn on the TV, you're likely to see some soaps. |
