This song fits so many kinds of struggles, and I think it serves for my own struggle with alcoholism. It's consumed who I am, and nobody can 'rearrange' or 'change' it anymore. It's, quite literally, just the way I am, no matter how hard I try to kick the habit. And believe me, I've tried so hard 'just to beat [it]'.

This song seems to be really loose in its intended meaning, which I really like. This song fits a time in my life where I was very unsure of myself. I didn't know where to turn, whether to live or die, or if I was going to 'make it'. However, for whatever reason, I was still so loyal to people. I generally loved people, and I still do. I have had friends that felt the same way that I did, only they were not going to live it out; they were intending to commit suicide. That's where 'I'm standing here until you make me move' really comes into play for me; I stood there for support until they either ended up doing it, or decided to live on with the rest of us.
Basically, this song, in my opinion, is about giving love and strength even when you are weak yourself. |
