| Dead Can Dance – How Fortunate the Man with None Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| The song is a paradox. It's about the fact that everything has its price. Extraordinary traits in humans sometimes are acted out. A true piece of individual fulfilment. A godly act. These people become extraordinary and remarkable. Then again, this comes at a cost. Fellow citizens are unable to realise this. They are overwhelmed, disgusted or simply not able to draw conclusions from the extraordinary examples. Normal people go with the flow. Following in this case god's rules could mean that they are deaf to step out themselves. Thus they hope to be delivered, but in fact they go nowhere. They are responsible for history repeating itself. | |

I think this song is about being kept down by a system the puts you in a certain place. With time passing by, you will not think about the deficiencies of the system as such, but you are concerned about your job in fulfilling the expectations of others. The last part Help me spread right, ash is Cow-fertilized Come down in a feed town Strength to minimize seems to me about resignation. You see the system, but you can not fight against it. All you do is in the same direction as the others that can't see. You keep your frustration to yourself. |
