Bad Religion – Only Rain Lyrics
|
I feel that Rain is the idiocracy, the lies and the stupidity people are getting fed with every day. thus the Rainy days.
The counterpart to scientists would obviously be priests, the christian right-wingers, companies and other people who will benefit by keeping people in fear and ignorance.
These people are constantly talking about changes and other cultures as something horrible and particularly muslims, russians and other people from the "east".
So scientists and other intelligent people, enlighten everyone about facts and how it really works, save us from the idiocracy (the rainy days)
But until then, the stupid and false propaganda these religious and power/money-hungry people are falling upon us, bringing us closer to the "judgment day", made up by the very same people.
But there is not judgment day. there is only stupidity
thus "It fell like judgment but it was only rain"

There's no "A" in the title, it's supposed to be Man in uniform. Great song btw and the meaning is pretty obvious; So many cops are corrupt and a part of the injustice and tyrany that is capitalism. |

I try everyday to accomplish what I could accomplish but I just dont have the energy for anything anymore. Noone around me understand what Im going through I just want to rip my head off so people can see that im just fake, it's not me.

@ melbaJD people dont hate Americans per se, but the US government and their politics, (at least intellectual people :>) Personally I dont judge people by their ethnics. NOFX – Seeing Double at the Triple Rock Lyrics

I thougt he sang "How much more R can we take?" where R is short for Ritalin (Ritalina)
which is a prescriped drug taken to basically make people calmer...It would fit in, in the sense that the society are trying to make them shut up, be calm and quiet so they fit in, but not even constantly increasing the dose of strong drugs will be able to prevent them from becoming the persons they really are. |

First: there's a difference between on one hand being successfull in the "mainstream" aka reaching out to a lot of people, sticking to some kind of message, trying to enlighten your listeners or rioting against the society in different ways(not in every single song necessarily, but that's the bands "core message" if you know what I mean) or on the other hand, singing about girls who are in love with the singer or how much money they have or that God is good etc. You have to understand that.
secondly: When Ramones and Clash was on top the general public point of view was way more left-wing radical than it is nowadays, Today it's all about stupefying. |

@ Talvorn I know but since English isnt my "mother language" and Im a bit lazy, I thougt that everyone would get my point anyways, appearently I was wrong. I'd say it's the other way around, the denieing of humans contributing to global warming is cuz of some people are making huges profits out of it.
@ Swimmer602, everything is connected, one of the reasons rich people are getting richer while poor people are getting poorer is the insane environment exploiting. It's not theoretical, it's happening. |

The sickness is quite political as well, not so much against a specific thing (e.g Global warming or Bush) but the songs are really raging against the modern society, listen to Down with the sickness for instance, and think of it as a political song. |

Our Lady Peace – Innocent Lyrics

Never the less, the "mainstream media" or whatever you would like to call it, are encouraging people to listen to music without thinking of their own, and that is a huge problem, cuz when people stop thinking for themselves, that's when the corporation can control us as if we were cows or pigs... My point is if music can enlighten people and make them think for themselves instead of being 100% commercial, that's a good thing.

I get the feeling that Greg is looking down upon people who arent willing to dig deeper, instead they accept the lies they've been fed since birth. And to make it even worse, these people not only just accept the lies, but beacuse they arent "enlighted" and not willing to learn more, they teach the people around them the same lies. |

Bad Religion – Infected Lyrics

Is Bad Religion really a sellout? in my opinion it's okey, even a good thing, to mix up emotional songs with political ones. Sure if they started doing this in like every third song i'd be a bit dissapointed, but it's only one song, so it obviously means something to the songwriter, thus why not some commercial sellout.

rofl... this song makes me laugh so hard, the rhythm, the melody and the bass is hell of a catchy, and even tho i really dont like rap, i just cant stop moving to the beat. But the lyrics are soooooooooooooo bad, they are surreal, stupid and in every way just laughable. There's a reason why this song has become a meme, if you dont know what im talking about, Google "Where da hood at meme" without the ". |

The Offspring – Have You Ever Lyrics

Im not gonna go into details, partly beacuse english isnt my "main"language and im not sure i'd be able to express myself the way I want, but mostly beacuse you covered it up pretty good. I too felt like I was merely a puppet, controlled by global companies and poleticians. I had to get something going that could help me work against the system. So I started reading a lot about politics and I found out that my ideals and political ideas fits in with socialism and marxism. Im not saying that you have the same political ideas or anything like that, but if you want to contribute and affect your country and the people around you, you should join a political party, try to convince the people around you that they shouldnt believe in all the lies and corruption. The most important for me is to know the truth, and in my opinion the truth is Socialism. That's my two cents, i hope it helps somehow. |

All Time Low – Weightless Lyrics

boohoo... Get a real problem to cry about... i've basically been locked in my own room for 10 months now beacuse everytime i get out of my room, my head starts to twitch beacuse of some old furniture we got when my grandmother died, (the smell triggers the twitching). I cant think about anything else, i cant eat with my family, i cant play computer-games or read cuz i cant focus on anything when the twitching starts, i cant continue my studies beacuse of the head-twitching, i cant get a job, beacuse lets face it, who'd hire somebody who can barely work... Im stuck in my room, trying to think of ways to solve the problem, every day i seriously consider ways to end my life but I'm not there quite yet, I havent lost my hope yet... the worst thing is that i cant talk to anyone about it because everybody see me as this cool basically flawless guy... My parents are emotionally disfunctional so i cant talk to them about it...
Sorry but everytime i see somebody complain about a problem that basically is nothing ( in my opinion that is) I get filled up with hatred and rage... |
