supposedly this song was originally his "suicide note" and was about suicide. it was reffering to the whole world being blue and his lack of feelings for anything. as for the chorus, i've heard: "I'm blue, if i was green i would die" "i'm blue, i'm in need of a guy" "I would bleed I would die, I believe I will die" "I'm blue, i'm in need of a guide" i guess it's all opinions. |

I think that this song is about searching for that not-so-perfect girl. like, guys want that gorgeous, blonde, bombshell girl. but not him, he wants someone who's unsure. not completely in control of her own life, someone who ISN'T perfect. he's looking for a girl that's beautiful in her own ways, not the traditional ones. i also think that he has yet to meet Virginia. I agree with @evened. i think that he's referring to someone who want's more, want's to be bigger than something, wants to rule the world. but, at the same time, someone who realizes that that is a huge responsibility. someone who loves her life, but always looks for more. a dreamer. there's flaws in everyone's theory. maybe the answer is a combination of everyone's posts, or, maybe he wanted the song open for interpretation. wanted everyone to take it their own way and maybe gain something out of it by looking at it in a way that means something to you. rather then setting a particular meaning so that less people relate. i'm not sure.. just an opinion..
