| Chicago – Saturday In The Park Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think some lyrics are missing. | |
| Lynyrd Skynyrd – That Smell Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I love how someone can take the line, "The smell of death surrounds you" and say that it means something other than death. Yeah we all get it, coke goes in the nose and druggies smell, but the obvious point here was "If you continue to do drugs, you are going to die" It wasn't to be taken literally. It wasn't written to tell the subject that they had poor hygiene. Argue all you want that it's about what shit smells like when you snort cocaine, but the song isn't just about coke, it's also about pot, heroin, 'ludes and alcohol. | |

How have they not been sued over plagiarism? The lyric: "All the other kids with the pumped up kicks" sounds exactly like Ian Hunter's Cleveland Rocks lyrics: "All the little kids growing up on the skids" and "All the little chicks with the crimson Lips" George Harrison got sued over My Sweet Lord and it sounded a lot less like He's So Fine than this does to Cleveland Rocks |

| Traffic – The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I heard somewhere that this was Winwood's response to all the "Glam Bands" that were coming on to the scene at the time. He apparently wasn't very fond of them. The man in the suit would be referring to the record execs. | |

| Yes – I've Seen All Good People: Your Move/All Good People Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
You guys are correct about the release date: Instant Karma! by John Lennon was released a full year before this song. The Yes Album started recording about 6 months after the release of John's "Karma". It is possible that this was a term thrown around in England at the time and that John's song didn't influence Yes. I believe the song is a metaphor about living life to the fullest and not wasting any time or movements. All prog rock songs are metaphors. How boring would this song be if the lyrics were: Don't be selfish Take a step back and rethink what you are doing |

| AC/DC – Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Here are the correct lyrics from AC/DC's official website: http://www.acdc.com/us/music/dirty-deeds-done-dirt-cheap/dirty-deeds-done-dirt-cheap-edited-version Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (Angus Young - Malcolm Young - Bon Scott) well if you're having trouble with the high school head he's giving you the blues you want to graduate but not in his bed here's what you gotta do pick up the phone, I’m always home call me anytime, just ring, 362436 oh I lead a life of crime dirty deeds done dirt cheap, dirty deeds done dirt cheap, dirty deeds done dirt cheap dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap you're got trouble in your life of love you got a broken heart he's double dealing with your best friend that's where the teardrops start pick up the phone, I’m here alone or make a social call come right in forget about him we'll have ourselves a ball dirty deeds done dirt cheap, dirty deeds done dirt cheap, dirty deeds done dirt cheap dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap if you got a lady and you want her gone but you ain't got the guts she keeps nagging at you night and day enough to drive you nuts pick up the phone leave her alone it's time you made a stand for a fee I’m happy to be your back door man dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap, dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap, dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap concrete shoes, cyanide, T.N.T. done dirt cheap neck ties, contracts, high voltage done dirt cheap dirty deeds, done dirt cheap, dirty deeds, done dirt cheap dirty deeds do anything you want me to done dirt cheap dirty deeds dirty deeds done dirt cheap © 1976 J Albert & Son Pty Ltd. First verse talking to a girl who is having sex with her principal Second verse talking to a girl whose guy is cheating on her Third verse talking to a guy whose girl is a bitch Sex is Bon's solution to all of these. As with every AC/DC song it is about sex and it is full of double entendres to make it sound like it might not be about sex. The "back door man" thing that everyone keeps getting hung up on is he's offering to take the girl off the guy's hands by having sex with her. He will be the one exiting the back door (actual door to the house) when the other guy is entering the front door. This is also a double entendre for anal sex. Bon knew this and put it like that for a reason. The phone number is also supposed to be a double entendre. It is the standard measurements of the "perfect woman". |

| Neil Young – Southern Man Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I know that the story is Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote "Sweet Home Alabama" in response to "Southern Man", they even mention "Southern man don't need you around anyhow". It's a good story anyway, but not entirely true. "Sweet Home Alabama" was also written in response to Neil Young's song "Alabama". Oh Alabama The devil fools with the best laid plan. Swing low Alabama You got spare change You got to feel strange And now the moment is all that it meant. Alabama, you got the weight on your shoulders That's breaking your back. Your Cadillac has got a wheel in the ditch And a wheel on the track Oh Alabama Banjos playing through the broken glass Windows down in Alabama. See the old folks tied in white robes Hear the banjo. Don't it take you down home? Alabama, you got the weight on your shoulders That's breaking your back. Your Cadillac has got a wheel in the ditch And a wheel on the track Oh Alabama. Can I see you and shake your hand. Make friends down in Alabama. I'm from a new land I come to you and see all this ruin What are you doing Alabama? You got the rest of the union to help you along What's going wrong? |
