I'm not an expert in religion, but I know enough that this is definitely centered on it. I'm not positive on the perspective either, but I think it is a refutation of religion. It discusses peoples attempts at understanding God as well: "all the children painted diagrams of god upon their hands hoping somewhere on this shaking earth, they could find a place to stand.", and "we turned our water into whining, shouting, "let us be like christ!" "what tied our hands tight to the train tracks" Might suggest following religion is dangerous etc. I hope people add to this |

At times I’ve shouted out unprovoked at the world and you Just to see if the people around me react Sometimes I think they’re all acting, Sometimes I’m scared I’m acting to lie My movements are stage directions Was that a change in topic or a ___ Have I been taking my emotional cues from the scripts I wrote at sixteen? Maybe I just think about it all so much, that the fear stays close to all the ghosts I’ve touched, It makes me question was it love or just lust? Caked in blood or old rust? I don’t know Don’t we remember all the moments we remember the best? Framed and posing in pictures Sang aloud in the frames Does this cycle of pain and disdain not work exactly the same? Maybe it’s just as much about what comes our way as it is how we react Just as much about the things we’ve still got as it is about the things we lack I know we won’t always keep around those we feel we need, Some will fade in frames, some were born to lead But if we’re still here and we still breathe At least we’ve still got time to figure it out. To know what to do, to know how to feel, Know the things that I’ve been making up inside my head And to know what’s real I want to believe that the way I am is just the way it goes For the things that came not the things I chose to come I want to know if I have any control I want to know if he comes for me And if my heart just stops pack my memories in it, I want to know all the love I’ve got And if my heart just stops keep me alive for a minute, I want to know if a curtain drops (I finally heard the full song. first of all its an absolutely amazing song, and secondly these lyrics still might not be 100%, I just typed it up while listening) |

| Its true, I think its "change how the hand plays out" as well. And I think its "the worth of the world, she set it ablaze" | |

| sounds like a girl being taken advantage of for sexual reasons, or faking sexual feelings for the pleasure of a man, "put on your bedroom face for him, all pursed lips and half closed eyes". It's saying its just an act for her that she puts on. And it also talks about being totally isolated from everything else, "in a soundproof room, in a windowless world". No one will hear or see what they are doing an it's a secret, "whisper secrets, speak in a hushed voice. the first thing that you learn is that you never let them hear you". There could be the possibility that the girl lives on the street "remember me in cold and concrete" it's an amazing song though. | |

| "from the scripts I wrote" should replace the second unintelligible. and it almost sounds like "came to glutter all the rust" at one part but that wouldn't make sense. and maybe "sang aloud in refrain" instead of dangled out of the frame. and it's "and my memory is in it" instead of memories end. And at first I thought it was "I want to know if the current drops" because it would make sense because your bodies electrical current would drop after your heart stops or he could be talking about a waterfall when the current of water drops, but I think curtain might be right. Thanks though you helped with lots of stuff I wasn't sure of! | |

| If you've ever read MacBeth, then it should be clear that this song is about how Macbeth felt after killing King Duncan. It makes so much sense if you think about it | |
