Big Country – Wonderland Lyrics 2 years ago
This song has been my favorite song since I was 17, when I first heard it.\n\nI\'m 40 now and it\'s only recently occurred to me how much depth and weight this song really has. This is not a young man\'s song.\n\nThe narrator feels the weight of his entire life bearing on him - his successes and failures, and he is looking at his chosen partner in life, and feeling glad they\'ve been by his side all this time.\n\nHe\'s made the best life he can, even if it wasn\'t the life he\'d planned or wanted when he was younger, and it\'s all the better for the presence person he\'s singing to.

Talking Heads – This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) Lyrics 14 years ago

Share the same space for a minute or two" "

Me. I would say that. We're all animals, shuffling around our stupid little pointless lives looking for a place to belong. And those lives are so fleeting, they might as well be a minute or two.

When you realize that in the grand scheme of things everything you have and know is the blink of an eye then gone, the most romantic thing you can say to another person is share with me the boring, mundane, and stay with me "out of the passing of time". Time is precious, what better reason could there be to stay with someone?

A lot of what some of you think makes this song depressing, is what I find heartwarming.
