Time Warner, the world's second largest entertainment conglomerate in terms of revenue (behind Disney and ahead of News Corporation and Viacom), owns Linkin Park and they simply cannot be taken seriously let alone be trusted. This song is an excellent example of their subliminal message brainwashing techniques marketed to the disgruntled youth. On the surface this song seems to be an philanthropist anthem against "the powers that be" while in fact it is telling you to embrace the system "We're a broken people living under a loaded gun and it can't be outfought It can't be outdone It can't be outmatched It can't be outrun No!" and believe in god. Punishment for the failure to do so is not only death, but hell in the afterlife. "God save us everyone Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns For the sins of our hands The sins of our tongue The sins of our fathers The sins of our young No!" Don't you get that the MILLIONS of records this single will sell is just putting money back into the killers' pockets?! If you insist on listening to this trash, please steal it. |

"They say that in war That truth be the first casualty" is a quote taken from Aeschylus (525BC - 456BC) a Greek tragic dramatist who wrote "In war, truth is the first casualty" "It's my ability to define phenomenon Raw Crenshaw '84 Boogie down before L.A. when the war break off" I'm honestly not sure what he's referring to but 14 Eastern Bloc countries, led by the Soviet Union, boycotted the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California due to "security concerns". Iran decided to boycott because of "United States interference in the Middle East, its support for the regime occupying Jerusalem and the crimes being committed by the U.S.A. in Latin America, especially in El Salvador" keep in mind this is purely my speculation. "...flooded like the 9th ward" refers to the catastrophic flooding of the 9th Ward in New Orleans, Louisiana due to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 |
