| Röyksopp – Beautiful Day Without You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| It kind of makes me think of a person who lost their friend/lover etc. to death, but I'm not sure. Whenever it's a nice day outside I just want to share it with the person I love the most, and when I can't, this song is how I feel | |

| As girls, we put on nylons and make-up, we lie, we fight with other girls, we let ourselves get down, we constantly flip through magazines, obsess over our self-image, all because of boys...that's what I think Yelle is trying to say in this song | |

This kinda seems like a French version of Lady Gaga's "Lovegame"...except this one debuted in 2007 (Lady Gaga's album was in 2008)...I like this one better here's a translation I got out of it Refrain: Crazy and so obvious that I don't find sense In this exciting game So good but so tiring You like to manipulate me I like to do the same We're two victims In this sweet love game I'd make the effort, I know you by heart I just have to ignore you For you to come back crying I'm with you, You leave again, that's that Always the same pattern And I look forward to every hope (it might actually be chaque fois, which is "every time" instead of foi, which is "faith") Refrain: Crazy and so obvious that I don't find sense In this exciting game So good but so tiring You like to manipulate me I like to do the same We're two victims In this sweet love game Passion, emotion And corrections to equations I shake the solution But I still have the same feeling It's so obvious That I don't find much sense In this love game So good and tiring x2 I don't want a flawless love Too perfect, you do not interest me Crazy for you especially when you go Crazy for me, from this step I'm going there (this line I'm not too sure about) Refrain: Crazy and so obvious that I don't find sense In this exciting game So good but so tiring You like to manipulate me I like to do the same We're two victims In this sweet love game I lose myself sometimes It's often well done And you hide your joy Because you've got me Like nice and stupid prey Who does not learn lessons From a rough and easy trap Of a charming boy But it's really too easy As soon as you smile you fascinate me Like a magnet on a wire Tense and clever (if "abile" is supposed to be "habile") But it's really too easy It's my fruit that fascinates you ("Pomme" literally means "apple", either she means this in a sexual way or it's is a reference to being the "apple of someone's eye) I turn my back to leave You know that it's not acidic (hurtful) Refrain: Crazy and so obvious that I don't find sense In this exciting game So good but so tiring You like to manipulate me I like to do the same We're two victims In this sweet love game The lyrics are pretty straightforward - probably more so in French, but the two people drive each other nuts and are happy in that sense, that there's an exciting game to always look forward to. |

when i would hear "collie man" i used to think more along the lines of "cali man"...except like he's saying it with a weird accent. but hidden.in.sunshine.'s suggestion makes sense too. this is my take on it, it's probably over-analyzed but... maybe collie man is someone who was a drug dealer who did, for a while, live a profitable but lonely life. Eventually he gave up selling in order to see life more so from the perspective of the singer and be a happier person. And now the singer is looking for his collie man to score some weed, wondering why he doesn't come around anymore. Another idea is that the singer used to be the collie man that he talked about, and realized that as much as he likes smoking, dealing took the simple joy out of it for him, the verses answer the question he asks himself in the chorus...maybe? I think it's cool how this song's theme could apply to anyone, and it doesn't have to be in terms of drugs...we all have something in our lives that makes us feel somewhat pressured to oblige to, rather than spending time doing something that makes us happy. maybe at some point we all feel like the collie man with people waiting on us or cracking under the pressure we put on ourselves. This pretty much says that you should take time to do what you love. life goes on and whether you want it to or not, don't stress because looking back on hard times will make you realize how much you learned from them...at times it really is the rocky rocky road that leads to our defining moments |

This is what I hear during the second verse... Once I had an name to claim, It scraped along the walls like an orthodox saint. I wish for the same old things That turn me inside out, Keeling in such pain... it's a game! |

| Iron & Wine – Love and Some Verses Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I would love this to be the first song at my wedding, if i get married this could be too literal of an interpretation, but i like the simplicity of it "Love is a dress that you made long to hide your knees " -symbolizes the purity (and the actual design) of a wedding dress which are traditionally worn long, in this case it makes me think it might symbolize the anticipation of truly and fully revealing oneself to each other not to mention "I'll love you only" - common given promise at a wedding "may i be weaved in your hair" could be a sign of his desire to be permanent in her life, as close as he can possibly feel during the second verse i think of a married couple, dancing their first dance at their reception and he's whispering in her ear all the things he feels and wants for them he mentions "changing contentments" which can relate to how a couple can struggle through good times and bad, followed by his repetition of the line "may i be weaved in your hair" relates to the first verse in which he will always love her just like he did in the beginning this song is incredibly touching |
