Led Zeppelin – Since I've Been Loving You Lyrics 14 years ago
I remember reading somewhere before that Jimmy Page nailed this solo in one take in the studio. That's unbelievable. The greatest guitar solo ever!!!!!

The original title track by Moby Grape is called "Never", for anyone who is interested in hearing it. I've heard it a few times before...but sadly I don't have it in my library anymore. I don't really care for that version though. I like bluesy songs, but only with the guitar stylings of one Mr. Jimmy Page. :P

In fact, I am right, just searched it. Moby Grape was a psychedelic group in the 60's, and happened to be one of Robert Plant's favorite bands. He used lyrics from one of their songs to inspire this one. Many of the lyrics are quite similar to the Moby Grape song...however in the Grape song, the singer says he's been working from eleven to seven.

I thought that the lyrics were taken from an old Moby Grape song, if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong. Either way, Zeppelin made it into the best blues/rock song ever. Definitely one of Zeppelin's top 2 or 3 songs for me.

Don McLean – American Pie Lyrics 14 years ago
First off, the singer's last name is McLean, NOT Mclane, to those of you who do not know better. Secondly, this song is in no way about JFK's assassination. It refers to the day Buddy Holly died in a plane crash. Fuck Kennedy and your dumb interpretations of the song. Try listening to the lyrics.

I love the Rolling Stones, but I can understand the lyric...Jagger is a horrible singer, and McLean's probably pissed that a band with a terrible singer could make it so big.

Elton John – Pinball Wizard (The Who cover) Lyrics 14 years ago
I love the Who's "Tommy", and this is my favorite Who song. Now, that said, I love the Elton John cover version, and I might even prefer. There's just more liveliness to his piano playing and signing...and he's certainly a more talented vocalist. But again, the Who did it very well, and both versions should be treated like two different songs, because the elements are different. I've heard a few live Elton John performances, and they've all been pretty good, and the version from the film is my favorite. Best scene in the film in my opinion.

Everclear – I Will Buy You A New Life Lyrics 14 years ago
I totally agree with your opinion as well. In fact, this is one of my favorite songs because it reminds me so much of myself towards my last girlfriend. I'm a sucker, and would still do anything for her, even though she does not share that feeling toward me.

Coldplay – The Scientist Lyrics 14 years ago
I take this to mean, making the call regarding their relationship, on the flip of a coin. He's called tails, but the coin's turned up as heads, meaning silence, no luck of fixing their problems.

Elton John – Bennie And The Jets Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow, big surprise, another Elton John song-meaning where everyone plays the drug card. Hey, I've got you for you guys. Remember that old school song, Mary Had a Little Lamb? Well, turns out it isn't so innocent after all. "Whose fleece was white as snow (COCAINE!)" DEFINITELY a reference to coke. Also, lambs (sheep) were the animals from which it was discovered how to immunize an animal/human against diseases. They were injected with low doses of these diseases. Now, injections to immunize lambs, means this song is about Mary shooting up heroin by needle. Crack and Heroin abuse. The true meaning behind Mary Had a Little Lamb.

Elton John – Circle of Life Lyrics 14 years ago
Are you one of the most ignorant people on the face of the earth? Let me answer that, yes, you are indeed the most ignorant person on earth. Elton John is by far one of the most gifted musicians in the history of recorded music. He's also one of the most entertaining to watch perform live. You're obviously just bitter because you are homophobic, and jealous of his well deserved fame and fortunes.

Deep Blue Something – Breakfast At Tiffany's Lyrics 14 years ago
I interpret this song as being about a guy who is in a failing relationship with a girl. Perhaps he really knew from the beginning she wasn't the right one for her, but he is trying to make an excuse to justify why she is right. Makes me think of a relationship that probably wasn't the best idea to begin with, but somehow the couple defied all odds and lasted for a long time. Now, they are beginning to part because of all their differences, but the singer is trying to say let's not give up just yet, we still have one thing in common, and we can work on this, as we have before.

Quote:
"I see you the only one who knew me
But now your eyes see through me
I guess I was wrong"

My interpretation is, that the guy thought the girl knew him and liked him for who he was, but know realizes this may have been wrong to think, as she is seeing more and more that perhaps they are not right for each other.

Quote:

"And I hate when things are over
When so much is left undone"

To me, this means, he hates to think the relationship is over now, when he feels that the two had the ability to work through things and go on together for a while longer.

Amazing song, catchy lyrics and beat. I think of this song when I look back on my most recent failed relationship. We were together quite a while, but were a weird couple to begin with, two totally different people. After a while, we got each other, and were good, but at the end, things drifted apart and we were that odd couple again.

Get Set Go – Won't Let Her Go Lyrics 14 years ago
One of my favorite Get Set Go songs. I can't believe I'm the first to comment on this song! This song is totally the estranged feelings I had with my last girlfriend. We were together for a couple years, and near the end this is exactly how I felt. I knew she didn't care about me much anymore, and we'd often kind of just sit in awkward silence when we were together, but despite her feelings toward me and the inevitability of our near end, I couldn't let go of her. I still loved her, and wanted everything to be okay. And now that she's gone, I too have a scar on my heart, so in that sense I can't let her go because of the hurt she left me, and because I still have those feelings of longing for what we had. Get Set Go is the most underrated band I know. I often consider Everclear to be the most underrated, but then I realize Get Set Go deserves that crown. Many of their songs have amazing lyrics. They have the best tunes for when you are depressed or angry. Their upbeat songs about crummy feelings or situations makes them very unique, and they deserve much more fame. One of my absolute favorite bands, and again, this song is pure quality.

Sublime – Santeria Lyrics 14 years ago
Absolutely Sublime's greatest tune. Awesome melody, guitar, vocals, it's got the whole package. I love the meaning of the lyrics. He's talking about his girlfriend who cheated on him, and had he owned a crystal ball and practiced santeria, he would have seen it coming. He says later in the song he's getting a .45, and with this gun he's going to kill the guy who robbed him of his love. Awesome song to listen to if you've ever had a girlfriend who left you for another guy, or who ever cheated on you. Just so happens my most recent first cheated on me after only a few months, then a couple years later, left me for a real loser. So I play this with some other great songs about break-ups, bitter ending relationships when I am drinking alone. If you want to hear another great break-up song, try now that it's over, by everclear.

Everclear – Now That It's Over Lyrics 14 years ago
I love this song. One of my favorites by Everclear. I had a bitter break-up with a girlfriend a few months ago, who I lived with for over 2 years. I love playing this in my song list when I'm alone getting drunk. The absolute best break up song there is! I love how the song builds up and ends. That last line is exactly what I think of you, Riley!

Tiffany – I Think We're Alone Now Lyrics 14 years ago
This is one of the greatest songs of the 80's. Tiffany was the first great female teenage singer, and I think this really helped pave the way for future teen sensations, such as Britney Spears, Cristina Aguilera, and Taylor Swift.

Also, this is one of the most successful covers of an original song ever. It's great that a teenager could bring a 60's hit back to life, and put a modern spin on it. This is a song that is not out of date nor will it be, because of the theme.

My interpretation of the song is that it is about a situation many of us find ourselves in, in our teenage years. Underage sex is still somewhat a shady topic. And that is definitely what this song is talking about. I compare this perhaps to Romeo and Juliet. Maybe the couple in the song aren't supposed to be together, as far as family pressures. However, when love feel right, you have to get away from it all and take your chances together.

Nirvana – Rape Me Lyrics 14 years ago
To the guy up above, the comment about the dog penis is purely adolescent. Sometimes the simple songs are the ones that end up becoming the classics. Take Lennon's, Imagine for example. Great song, very simple, huge meaning. I compare Rape Me to Imagine. A bit of a stretch, I know. But I interpret the lyrics of the song to mean, there are people out there who are always going to take advantage of someone else. Whether or not it means rape literally or physically, at some point, the victim of the situation just sort of learns to cope with everything. As long as they are still alive, they haven't been beaten. Take Lennon's Imagine, and it's similar, only he's asking if you can imagine a world without these problems. Perhaps Cobain was a bit more realistic.
