This song is about how ridiculous it is when such a woman has the attitude that she's strong, special and worth respect. Especially if, in a modern context, she demands 'equality' with men who have to be real every day and work hard for what they get every day, not just sit there looking pretty and being overly-critical of men who approach (hence the need for ALL men to lie just to fuck them, when it shouldn't be necessary and in human sexual reproduction WOMEN are the gatekeepers to sex, so the responsibility's on them, and that's just a hard reality they're not living up to and unhappiness results for both genders if you look at the wider picture and how common this weak culture is).

Reality doesn't change for ANYONE's viewpoint, mate. Lying about reality only serves the weak, the liars, the thieves and the politicians of this world. If that's a culture that is bound to the feminine, then it needs to be said - so that an alternative can be brought to society so that HUMAN BEINGS can live in harmony instead of treating each other like the enemy - especially by gender, due to all sorts of prejudices from both sides (although women tend to have it easier in many ways - the fact that they live longer is an unambiguous piece of evidence that they have more support and less stress in life, thus if they do not wish this to be equal for males, are scamming males when they claim to want equality and to be treated 'decently' - it's a shit-test and most males are falling for the scam way too much - Lynn Strait not so much according to these lyrics). |

What a charming, romantic chap this lyricist is! Lynn Strait serves it up straight from the heart, no bullshit, no political correctness, and too a badass backing track, too.
Although pretty harsh in lyrical perspective, he speaks some real truth about what women expect from men ("eggshell walk" indeed!) and how it's way out of proportion ("like you did ME a favor") Men get really pissed-off about this, and it's not just about their deficiencies or that kind of 'why don't you man-up to the challenge' stuff, no: "Well this choice is not just, mine".
If women want to enjoy themselves, they need to be liberated themselves, not just think they are, or think ignorantly and like victims - and make men carry the burden. They won't get respect from men that way, and the world will fill full of more lesbians and gays, ultimately. Or we can stop with the bullshit. The onus these days is on women (all credit due to anyone not perpetuating bullshit or deception and that goes equally by gender, men can readily be full of shit, but women lead the dance for men in the seduction game, and that's the truth). |

This song makes me happy for any kids Roots Manuva ever has. They probably have a good Dad! Also makes me want to give him a hug, even though I'm a straight man and not black or any other cheesy reason. I still consider awake human beings my brothers and sisters - and some people deserve respect to the deepest level. Funny thing is he could be a right prick in real life, just like anyone in the media, as you never know the truth until you have evidence! But just for this song, I'd shake his hand at least. You're right about the subject of the song, but obviously have no clue about Portuguese. 'Bumbklaat' (aka bumbaclart, misc. other spellings) is a JAMAICAN Patois word, meaning literally bum-cloth (arsewipe). It's a big insult obviously. There's a variant, bloodclart, meaning bloody cloth (e.g. sanitary towel). The dread-wearing Max Cavalera is influenced by Jamaican culture, so there you go. |

That would be why you laugh at/with Tenacious D and don't listen to them when you want actual MUSIC that would be good to listen to in an objective sense. It matters a lot more than they think if it's good - kind of similar thinking to saying: "It doesn't matter if this music is good just as long as there's a sexy video and a danceable beat". I'd like to think this stuff isn't in the same league as chart 'product'. |

With its dark imagery intertwined with drugs it says it all very simply: the highs and lows of drugs are mixed. It's cockroaches served with cream... It's the bad trip you didn't want to have, but that is here now and this is what it feels like. Something like that. Pretty cool sound though! |
