Cream – Anyone for Tennis? Lyrics 14 years ago
Definitly about Vietnam. The contrasting images of the buddist monk setting himself on fire, whilst the yuppies and polititions in America ignored these kinds of things and instead lit their cigars and played golf (anyone for tennis...? )
I think you can pretty much analyse each line easily, and apply it to that interpretation.

The Beatles – The Ballad of John and Yoko Lyrics 14 years ago
There is way too much hate for Yoko. I could go on forever defending her.

This is a damn good song, and I can definitly see the way it mirrors Chuck Berry's "you never can tell!" I can't help but feel that despite Paul's work on it, this song feels 100% John Lennon. If you compare it to his later work, it sounds very similar but distinctively different to John's work in the Beatles. Anyone else see it?

The Beatles – Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Lyrics 14 years ago
It's NOT about crossdressing, that was just a sweet twist on the words. Obviously it's just about life. I have a friend called Molly, and I always sings this to her. :)

The Beatles – Get Back Lyrics 14 years ago
I think John suggesting that this was about Yoko was completely in his head, and he pretty much was paranoid which to be fair, you would be with how they were treated. But THIS, "get back to where you once belong" being about Yoko? Nah, I don't buy it. It's just a song about being out of your depth, in a place you don't belong. So many people were trying to make it out in the city or trying to be something they're not, which is what I think this song is about. :)

The Beatles – Here, There and Everywhere Lyrics 14 years ago
I love this song and all, but I've always kind of seen it as inadequate in comparison to the rest of the Beatle's songs, and definitly to the rest on the album. I often even skip it because I just can't listen to it, and yet it's Paul's favourite and John seemed to think it was one of the best Beatle's songs, and so many find it the best on the album?
I appreciate that it is an amazing song, but can someone explain to me why it's so special? To each their own, I suppose.

The Beatles – Do You Want to Know a Secret Lyrics 14 years ago
This is a cute song, especially when George sings it. :)
I think John pretty much wrote it as a bog standard love song, about nothing in particular and never considered it to be great (hence giving it to George). It's already been said that he wrote it in imitation of a disney song his Mum would sing to him, but other then this, I don't think he put much thought into it.
Despite that, I still think it's a pretty cool song. And who doesn't love George's singing? I wish he could've song it to me! ;)

The Beatles – Golden Slumbers Lyrics 14 years ago
First time I heard this song I cried so much, including it's lead onto carry that weight and the end. These three songs just seem like the perfect illustration of life and death. We grow from childhood where we're too old to be comforted by our parents and sung a lullaby. There's no one to kiss us better when we scrape our knee. Things get harder, there's pressure and stress that we have to carry as weight on our soldiers until we die - but in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make, and the lives you touch on the way, and the people who touch you make it worth it.
To be fair, I know nothing about life. I'm only fifteen. :S, but that's my interpretation for you. :)

The Beatles – You Never Give Me Your Money Lyrics 14 years ago
To be honest, when I listen to this song there isn't an interpretation in my mind. It's just a beautiful song. If I had to make an interpretation, I'd say I see this as a storyline of the Beatles' success. Maybe it isn't, but the way it starts out with the ending and arguements between the music and money, and then goes into the Beatles' starting out and finally making it "one sweet dream".
It's more likely to just be about life in general as it can be applied to most people's lives with the ups, downs and finally death. A perfect song.

The Beatles – Maxwell's Silver Hammer Lyrics 14 years ago
I don't think this song represents anything particular, and people read into it a bit too much. It's just a comical little song about college student Maxwell killing. If you really did want to read into it, you could say the whole song right down to it's composition is about life taking turns and surprising you.

It starts out almost like a parody of beatles love songs intruducing two characters to go out to the movies on a date, making you think that it's a love song, then BAM, it couldnt be more different. This kinda shows that not only is the story in the song about life's surprises, but everything right down to the cheerful tune and vocals conflicting with the dark undertone. Things aren't always what they seem. ;)

This song is way underappreciated. I suppose in comparison to the Beatles' other songs, it would be. :)

The Beatles – The End Lyrics 14 years ago
The last lines seem so significant as a represenation of what the Beatles were for some many. We loved them, and gave our hearts and in return they gave their music. I feel the beatles rock band did a great job on using this as it's ending sequence with the flowers and lillies growing (lillies represent death - they're a funeral flower so it literally represents death and the end and seems like a sweet tribute to john and george).
And as for those guitar solo's...I had to scoop my brains off the floor afterwould. But it was worth it.
:)
