You are all wrong! I have listened this song while smoking pot. Jim sings in this song about HIMSELF. His childhood was not so free and good. His father was a navy and they tought Jim to be very closed,not feeling life human being and not a free person.father wanted Jim to go to the army,follow his steps. Bullets- are all parents WORDS that Jim was eating through the years,before they all havent's become older. Unborn living, living dead- parents and society wanted to kill his individuality.
